April is National Career Assessment Month
Military spouses can walk-in every Wednesday (except April 22) from 8:00-10:00 a.m. and complete a FREE on-line career assessment and talk to job
coach about their employment/education goals. Each participant will receive a career portfolio binder and the book, FireStarters: 100 Job Profiles.
Individual appointments can also be made at a later time. Dates: April 1, 8, 15, 29. Location: Strom Thurmond Bldg., Room 223.

STEP 2: Visit the Military Spouse Job Center on March 3 to get your resume referred to local employers by SC Employment and Workforce Development staff.
*Bring a copy of your resume. If you need help setting up an account on SC Works have your resume accessible via e-mail before arriving or save resume to a CDROM. Can’t use thumb drives on government computers.
Job Searching Strategies for Military Spouses. Seeking employment on Fort Jackson or in the surrounding area? Get a jump-start on your job search by
obtaining relevant information about employment, education and volunteer opportunities. Topics include on and off post employment opportunities, Military Spouse
Employment Partnership (MSEP), job searching tips, SC WORKS WIA Program, learn basic resume writing techniques, interviewing skills and much more!!
All military spouses of active duty/retired military personnel and Survivors will be eligible to enroll in the ERP to receive one-on-one employment
assistance, receive ongoing e-mail job postings and have resume sent to prospective private sector employers!!
Steps to Federal Employment for Military Spouses. Attention job seekers! Looking for Federal Employment? This workshop will walk you through every step of
the way!! Information on how to look up and create resumes for civil service and non-appropriated fund employment will be covered. Military spouses will learn how
the Military Spouse Preference can play a vital role in federal employment success!!
Starting and Running A Small Business. The seminar will be presented by the University of South Carolina Small Business Development Center. Topics include:
Start-up Information, Business License and Plan, Internet Resources, and Small Business Planning Resource Guide & more!!! This event is co-sponsored by ACS
ERP Office and Soldier for Life: Transition Assistance Office. Preregistration is not requested. Show up at least 15 minutes before the class begins.
Are you Job Ready?? Resume Writing and Interviewing Skills Workshop. This workshop is designed to provide you with tools and knowledge useful in
building your resume and improving your interviewing skills. Workshop is conducted by BlueCross BlueShield Human Resources Department. Excellent opportunity
to network with BCBS personnel!! Open to everyone!!! Many of our clients who attend this class had success in being employed with SC BlueCross BlueShield.
Project Management Fundamentals and Careers. Build a solid foundation of project management knowledge, techniques and tools in this hands-on workshop
that covers the entire project life cycle from describing and initiating a project, planning and managing the project to the project closeout phase.
Professional Time Management. In this course students will identify effective time management strategies, including defining personal and professional goals,
establishing priorities, and identifying the tasks that will be critical to achieving those goals. You will create a personal time management action plan.
