OUR VISION By 2015, Freedom Temple will be a multi-generational, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural church that promotes the name and ministry of Jesus Christ, makes disciples, strengthens individuals and families and positively affects our neighborhood, the greater Baltimore region and the world. OUR MISSION The mission of Freedom Temple is to “Repair the Breach” (Isaiah 58) by enlisting, equipping, educating, and empowering loving and committed disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. As a result, lives are changed, hurts are healed, and hope is restored. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” “Where lives are changed, hurts are healed, hope is restored, Jesus is Lord, and you are welcome!” ~ John 11:25-26 (New King James Version) SCRIPTURE READINGS MARCH 2-APRIL 4, 2015 Mon March 2 Tues 3 Wed 4 Thurs 5 Fri 6 Sat 7 Exodus 11-15 Acts 17-21 Exodus 16-20 Acts 22-26 Exodus 21-25 Acts 27-28 Romans 1-3 Exodus 26-30 Romans 4-8 Exodus 31-35 Romans 9-13 Exodus 36-40 Romans 14-16 I Corinthians 1-2 9 10 11 12 13 14 Leviticus 1-5 Leviticus 6-10 Leviticus 11-15 Leviticus 16-20 Leviticus 21-25 Leviticus 26-27 I Corinth. 3-7 I Corinth. 8-12 I Corinth. 13-16 2 Corinth 2-6 2 Corinth. 7-11 Numbers 1-3 2 Corinth. 1 2 Corinth 12-13 Galatians 1-3 16 17 Numbers 4-8 Galatians 4-6 Ephesians 1-2 18 19 20 21 Numbers 9-13 Numbers 14-18 Numbers 19-23 Numbers 24-28 Numbers 29-33 Ephesians 3-6 Philippians 2-4 Colossians 3-4 I Thess. 4-5 I Timothy 1-5 Philippians 1 Colossians 1-2 I Thessalonians 2 Thess. 1-3 1-3 23 24 25 26 27 28 Numbers 34-36 Deuteronomy 1-2 I Timothy 6 2 Timothy 1-4 Deut. 3-7 Titus 1-3 Philemon 1 Hebrews 1 Deut. 8-12 Hebrews 2-6 Deut. 13-17 Hebrews 7-11 Deut. 18-22 Hebrews 12-13 James 1-3 Deut. 23-27 James 4-5 I Peter 1-3 April 1 2 3 4 30 31 Deut. 28-32 I Peter 4-5 2 Peter 1-3 Deut. 33-34 Joshua 1-3 I John 1-5 Joshua 4-8 Joshua 9-13 Joshua 14-18 Joshua 19-23 2 John; 3 John Revelation 3-7 Revelation 8-12 Revelation 13-17 Jude Revelation 1-2 Freedom Temple now has an app. Just go to your app store to download --- IT’S FREE! Rev. Lowell A. Williams, Presiding Elder Baltimore District Mrs. Georgia Thompson, Missionary Supervisor Mid-Atlantic II Bishop Richard K. Thompson, Presiding Prelate Mid-Atlantic II Volume 5. Issue 10. March 2015 No In Between in 2015: All In! What Do You Believe? I Peter 3:15 Next month Christians all over the world will celebrate the holiest day of the Christian calendar, Resurrection Sunday (or Easter as it is commonly known). And, during this year’s Lenten Season (the 40 days leading up to Resurrection Sunday, not counting Sundays), we are studying the Apostles’ Creed – a series of statements that we recite each Sunday to affirm what and in whom we believe. I Peter 3:15 admonishes us, “if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it” (NLT). Do you know what you believe? Can you explain your faith to someone who’s looking for hope and has nowhere else to turn? Can you explain it to the Jehovah’s Witness who knocks on your door? Can you explain it to the person who says I live by Christian principles, but I’m not into that Jesus stuff; I’m spiritual, but I’m not religious? More importantly does your life line up with your beliefs? Is your faith in God, so solid, so steady, so secure that when the winds come, when the wiles come, when the worse comes you can steadfastly stand on what and on whom you believe? The Apostles’ Creed begins with the words “I believe.” Believing in Jesus means to trust him completely with your eternal destiny. To say, “I believe” means that you are making a personal commitment to the truth. I can’t believe for you and you can’t believe for me. A husband can’t believe for his wife and a wife can’t believe for her husband; and although parents must train them up, parents can’t believe for their children. You must make up your own mind. You can’t live on the faith of those around you. At its core, the church is a community of believers who are bonded together by their common faith in Jesus Christ. That’s why the church for more than 2,000 years has affirmed the Apostles’ Creed. It expresses our common faith in Christ. Our belief in God, and in His Son Jesus Christ is what drives us to be ALL IN for Him. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16, NKJV). As we continue to fast during this Lenten season and to reflect on God’s great sacrifice for each of us, may we not only remember the death and crucifixion of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, but may we prepare our hearts to celebrate His glorious resurrection. I encourage you to affirm your faith – not just on Sundays—but everyday by declaring sincerely and reverently (not automatically and mechanically) what you believe! I believe in God, the Father, almighty the maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. The third day he arose from the dead, he ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church (the church universal), the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen, Amen and Amen.
