Ideally, scholarship applicants have honored God and Friendswood UMC through the faithful use of their prayers, presence, gifts, service, and their witness. Awards are based primarily on the following criteria: 1. Study for a church related vocation. 2. Past service to church 3. Participation in church and student ministries All students are encouraged to apply, however, as it is not necessary to meet all three criteria. In addition, students may share with the committee other factors that they feel make them worthy candidates. Please be aware, however, that need is generally not a determining factor. Applications will be available in the Student Lounge, the reception area of the church, from the Student Ministry Office or online at www.friendswoodumc.com. The deadline for turning in an application is Monday, May 4, 2015. Applications should be delivered to the Student Ministry Office, or emailed to [email protected]. Award recipients are announced during the Recognition Dinner.
