knowingly or intentionally kill another human being, to wit: Jerry Dwayne Wright.

James Taylor, upon information and belief, affirms under the penalties for perjury that:
I am an Investigator with the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit, and make this
affidavit after my own investigation as well as reviewing verified St. Joseph County Metro
Homicide and other investigative reports which were submitted to me. The investigation and
reports reveal as follows:
On June 9,2015 shortly after 5:30 P,M. police were dispatched to a shooting in the 2400
block of Frederickson St., South Bend, St. Joseph County, IN. On arrival victim Jerry Wright
was found suffering from several apparent gunshot wounds. Mr. Wright did not survive his

wounds.
Witness Ms. Partee explained thatJerry Wright had come to her home in the 2400 block

of Frederickson Street just a few minutes prior to the shooting to see the mother of his child who
was at her residence getting her hair done. Marqwan Beserra, whom Ms. Partee has known
basically his whole life, was also at the residence and had stayed there the night prior. Beserra

and Wright exchanged words in the residence and Ms. Partee escorted the young men out the
front door into the stre-et where they continued to exchange words, including Beserra telling
Wright thathe (Beserra) had a gun. Shots were then fired. Ms. Partee saw Jerry Wright stumble
toward her residence and fall. Marqwan Beserra fled to the Northwest.
Another witness, Ms. Mohead, was near the front of Ms. Partee's house when she heard
gunshots. Ms ..Mohead looked up and saw Marqwan Beserra, whom she had known previously
and had photographs of on her cellular telephone, standing in the street holding a black and
brown handgun which was leveled and pointed toward Jerry Wright. Jerry Wright was
stumbling toward the house then fell.
