from Edwin Doran Sports Tours, who will assist with your check in to SriLankan Airlines flight

also the home of The Temple of the Tooth Relic which is one of the most venerable places for
the Buddhist community of Sri Lanka and all around the world.

After your matches you will visit the stunning 17th Century TEMPLE OF THE TOOTH, which is
believed to house the left upper canine tooth of the Lord Buddha. The interior of the temple
buildings are richly carved and decorated with inlaid woods, ivory, and lacquer. The relic of
the tooth is kept in a two-story inner shrine fronted by two large elephant tusks, resting on a
solid gold lotus flower, encased in jeweled caskets that sit on a throne.
Please ensure that you are dressed appropriately – no shorts or vests (legs and
shoulders must be covered).

1030 hrs En route stop off and visit the ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE at PINNAWALA to have lunch and
watch the feeding of the baby elephants before accompanying them to the local river.
After lunch continue to Mount Lavinia Hotel, south of Colombo.

CHARITY Foundation for Human Development, will join you this morning at the Mount Lavinia
Hotel.
0930 hrs This morning visit a TURTLE SANCTUARY along the coast and then head south to GALLE to
visit GALLE FORT and the TEST GROUND
You will have a picnic lunch today.
1345 hrs This afternoon visit the community of TELWATTE a small village north of Galle which is
supported by the SHINING LIFE CHARITY.
1415 hrs COMMUNITY TOUR – You will be divided into four teams, each with a guide to take you
round the village seeing inside houses and community buildings, learning first hand how the
village has recovered from the tsunami and having an interactive experience of village life.
1515 hrs STREET CRICKET - The local boys would love to hit a few balls with you and you can enjoy
the informality of this type of game and the joy it brings to all involved.
1600 hrs SANCK TIME – ‘Short Eats’ is the name given to Sri Lankan snacks; the local families will
make short eats to share with you. They will have prepared them as best they can for western
pallets but be aware their definition of no chillies is still considerably hotter than food we are
used to in the UK.
1630 hrs CULTURAL EXCHANGE– Sri Lankan communities love to entertain guests with a show of
singing, sketches and dancing. Children of all ages within the community will perform a few
pieces for you.
1715 hrs PRESENTATION OF GIFT– an opportunity for the Telwatte leaders to thank you for visiting
and for you to present the gifts you have brought.
1730 hrs Return to your hotel late afternoon for some leisure time.

2000 hrs Arrive London Heathrow Airport, Terminal 3, and clear UK Immigration and Passport Control,
collect your luggage and pass through Customs. You will then be free to disperse for home
(own arrangements for getting to/from London Heathrow Airport).
