This workshop is designed for non-counselling
professionals, who often find themselves in unplanned
counselling situations with clients or colleagues.
The workshop will equip participants with effective
intervention strategies and the basic skills required to better
assist people in difficult situations.
We will also explore communication principles and the
essential skills of creating and maintaining boundaries.
At the end of the session participants will …….

Have increased understanding of effective interpersonal and relationship skills in
the Workplace.

Have increased knowledge and understanding of a Counselling “map” or “model of
practice”.

Have increased confidence to apply foundational Counselling skills.

appropriate boundaries.

Colleen Hirst is a Clinical Psychologist, couple and
family therapist, supervisor and trainer who has
been practicing for over 30 years.
She has presented many workshops for Family
Worker Training and Development Programme,
including Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Strength
Based Practice, Reflective Practice, Strategic
Questioning and Advanced Counselling Skills.
Colleen is currently in private practice, working with
a team of Psychologists at Merrylands Counselling.
