National Garden Day A PETITION FOR THE HOUSE OF COMMONS     Whereas Canada has a long-standing garden heritage; Whereas National Garden Day would recognize the many national and international innovations of the Canadian horticultural industry; Whereas National Garden Day would promote environmental stewardship and educate Canadians on the importance of public and private gardens, and the health and well-being benefits of gardens; and Whereas National Garden Day would provide an opportunity for Canadians to share their knowledge and passion for gardening and the outdoors; Therefore we, the undersigned citizens of Canada, call upon the House of Commons to:  Designate the Friday preceding Father’s Day of each year as National Garden Day.
