NEWS FOR YOU ON THE CITY CENTER PROJECT
Dear Friends,
Spring is in the air, and warmer weather brings with it big transformations at
City Center Plaza. While construction has largely been focused on digging
and pouring concrete until now, we’re moving forward with vertical, aboveground construction starting this week. This is an exciting step, because it
means that the new buildings at City Center Plaza will start to take shape
over coming months.
Included in this month’s newsletter is information about renovations to the Grove, progress on Main Street, and a few
tidbits about the energy efficiency measures that will be implemented at City Center Plaza.
I look forward to watching with you as City Center Plaza takes shape over the coming months, and I hope that you will feel
free to voice your thoughts and questions. As always, I’m available to answer any questions at
[email protected].

Q: What’s going to happen to the Grove after City
Center Plaza construction is completed?
A: The Grove belongs to Capitol City
Development Corporation (CCDC) and thus they
are leading conversations about changes to the
Grove. Due to the proximity to City Center Plaza
and the Grove’s important role in making this
Boise’s premier downtown gathering space,
Gardner Company is a stakeholder in the
conversations, along with the City of Boise,
GBAD, Block 22, and Oppenheimer Development
Corporation.
Q: Is City Center Plaza an energy efficient
development?
A: We’ll be revealing specific energy-efficiency
measures for City Center Plaza in coming
months, but we are excited to say that City
Center Plaza will be on the cutting edge of highperformance design. Gardner Company has a
strong track record when it comes to energy
efficiency, and every aspect of City Center Plaza,
from the windows to the air conditioning
system, was designed and engineered with
responsible and cost-effective objectives in
mind.

Main Street
Relieving traffic constraints on Main Street remains
a top priority for our construction team. We recently
poured the concrete cover over the Main Street
Deck, which will serve as the roof of the
underground transit center, Main Street Station, and
as the southernmost lane of Main Street. We
appreciate your continued patience as we work to
complete construction in a timely manner while
maintaining the highest levels of public safety.
You’ll also be able to see changes on a daily basis
soon—we have begun installing structural steel,
which is the first above-ground construction of the
project.
