All candidates for the Band Council must have been a member of the MTMB for at least one year and plan to march during the year in which they serve. 2. To nominate someone for a position on the council, fill out a nomination form and place it in the mailbox. 3. Graduating seniors may make nominations and vote; however, these votes will only count for half of a vote. This is their chance to leave the program in good hands, without being able to totally elect a representative to the board who will not be representing them. 4. If the “Why” segment of the nomination is not completed thoughtfully or left blank, the nomination will be disregarded. Captains and Drum Major(s) will complete an application and interview. Drum Major candidates will also have an audition. 5. Please do not re-‐nominate someone for a position if you know they have already been nominated. Daily nomination lists will be posted to help with this. 6. Take great care with this and nominate many individuals. The purpose of this is to allow you to take ownership of your band experience.
