Central City Swing Band rehearsal circa 2015

Orcutt - The Central City Swing Band will perform their annual Spring Concert on Tuesday
evening, March 31st, 2015 at 7:30PM. The concert will feature eight instrumental arrangements
written for and performed by the Buddy Rich Band. Our professional drummer, Jim Stromberg,
will be featured on these tribute arrangements. The program will also feature eight vocals by
Michelle Swanson and by Mitch Latting, the lead trumpet and flugelhorn player.
The group, led by Mr. Bob Swayze, has been performing on the Central Coast for many, many
years. The band features 17 musicians in a standard “big band” configuration: 5 saxophones, 4
trombones, 4 trumpets and piano, guitar, bass and drums. The concert is performed in a church
with very comfortable seating, but no room for dancing.
There is no advanced sale of tickets, and there is no admission charge for this event. There is a
“Tip Jar” in the lobby and any donations are split equally with the Church, with the balance
going into the band’s music acquisition fund.
The concert will take place at 7:30PM on Tuesday, March 31st, 2015 at the Unity Chapel of
Light Church, 1165 Stubblefield Road, Orcutt, CA. For more information regarding the Central
