To prevent child abuse and
neglect and to lessen the trauma
to child victims of sexual and
severe physical abuse during the
investigative, prosecutorial and
healing process.
the doors of Garth House have been open to
the
abused
children
of
Southeast
Texas. In 2015, Garth House will continue to
impact the lives of abused children. Garth
House provides a safe and secure
environment to interview physically and
sexually abused children. The children have
a safe and comfortable surrounding to tell
their story, which is recorded and preserved
on DVD, instead of them being repeatedly
questioned.
The counseling provided by
Garth House not only heals the psychological
trauma to the children, but helps ensure
these children are not re-victimized. Since
the program began, the Garth House has
conducted over 10,300 child interviews. In
addition, last year over 2,200 therapy
sessions were conducted with child victims
and their non-offending family members.
The Program has grown since it began in 1991.
Garth House now serves six surrounding
counties and opened satellite offices in
Hardin, Jasper, Newton, Orange and Tyler
Counties. Teddy bears, kindness and smiles
surround hurting, sad children at the Garth
House. We continue to look into innocent eyes
and know Garth House and its many sponsors
have made a difference. A sponsorship form
for our fundraiser, 'Golf Classic 2015' being
held on March 30, 2015 is included in this
tri-fold. Please support us in helping the
abused children of Southeast Texas, so we as
a community can watch our children grow and
reach their greatest achievements. Please
