The North Devon School of Country Beekeeping Membership Application 2015 Our Annual Membership runs from 1st Jan to 31st Dec and is open to anyone with an interest in keeping honey bees. The annual subscription is payable in advance and runs from January 1 to December 31. Membership Classes: Full Membership - £15 per year For those who wish to take part in some or all activities of the NDSCB Junior Membership - FREE For members under 18 years of age at the start of the year Partner Membership - £5 per year For anyone living with someone that has Full Membership They enjoy all the rights of Full Membership except for BDI* where applicable Members of all classes enjoy access to the school’s meetings, help and advice, apiary, library, and receive news updates and other communications. Bee Disease Insurance (BDI) This is not an insurance policy taken out with an insurance company but an undertaking by the NDSCB to help you should you loose a colony of bees due to American or European Foul Brood disease. Our undertaking is to supply free of charge a nucleus1 of bees on frames. This offer of help is subject to the following limitations: • • • • 1 2 3 The NDSCB will supply one nucleus1 regardless of the number of colonies lost due to disease The NDSCB will supply one nucleus1 within one calendar year per full member Not more than ten percent of NDSCB funds2 to be spent in total within one calendar year Provided the NDSCB is able to acquire sufficient nuclei to meet demand from claims 3 A nucleus being a queen with sufficient number of workers to establish the start of a colony. Available at the time of any claim or claims. The NDSCB will endeavour to the best of its ability to satisfy all claims but is unable to offer a guarantee.
