GBA Summer Workshop is here! Join us at the Lake Washington Plantation
Subdivision Clubhouse in Lawrenceville, Ga. for a great day of weaving with amazing
teachers. You don’t want to miss it!
Registration Fee is only $25, which includes lunch. Complete the registration form and
return by May 8th with your $25 check. Choosing only 1 option will not ensure enrollment
in that class.
You’ll get your assignment by email, or if you prefer to receive your class assignment by
mail send a Stamped, Self-Addressed Envelope.
You’ll get your class assignment by May 22nd. Project fee (check made out to the teacher)
must be received by May 29th to secure your place in class.
Lunch will be provided and will include a choice of sandwich, veggies/fruit, chips,
coffee/cold drinks, and dessert.
You are welcome to attend even if you don’t want to take a class but you will still need to
register and pay $25.
Door prizes will be awarded, please bring an unwrapped item if you would like to
participate.

Tear Drop Basket

Size approx. 12" (will vary)
If you’re looking for something a little different and want to try
sculpturing with reed, this teardrop basket is for you. Weaves
consist of continuous, twining, and 3 rod wale. The top is
enhanced with a braided rim and woven handle. Shapes and size
will vary per individual but a pointed bottom will be specifically
emphasized. Instructions and tips on shapes will be covered.
Embellishments of choice will be up to the individual student.

Tartan Weave
Advanced Beginner

Size approx. 7”x11”x10”
The design element for Tartan Weave appears complex but is
woven in an over/under weave. The pattern is achieved by the color
and placement of the spokes and weavers. This basket is woven
from a hardwood base and ends with a waxed linen lashing. You can
redesign this basket in class by extending the pattern with more
rows and/or alternating the rows more frequently. Let's have fun
while being creative with an over/under weave.

Bark Ruff

Cost $75.00
Size approx. 4-5” tall by 3” diameter
Participants will begin this unique basket by laying out a square Cedar
bark base, and begin twining with Iris leaves. After the upset we’ll
start a continuous spiral up with outer bark plaiting and Iris leaf
twining. From here there are some design options such as building up
one high side or changing materials for color variation. We’ll finish
with a “ruff” of Cedar bark fringe. Plant materials will be discussed.

Bungalow Trinket

The Bungalow Trinket proudly features flaring cherry ear
handles giving it the Viking ship look. Students will weave
alternating width hand pounded brown ash uprights. This
basket is mold woven and finished with nailed cherry rims.
