Bus Services in York – Tour de Yorkshire 2015
Buses across the region will disrupted by the Tour de Yorkshire over the weekend 1–3 May 2015. I will add further
details below as soon as I find out what the other bus companies’ plans are.
Friday 1 May
Arriva North East
4/X4 Between 1430 and 1630, buses in Whitby will run to/from Chubb Hill Road, not bus station. While the race
passes through Whitby at around 1530, buses may have to stop at Upgang Lane
P1/P2 Between 1430 and 1630, buses will run to/from Chubb Hill Road, not serving St Hilda’s Terrace or bus
station. While the race passes through Whitby at around 1530, buses may have to stop at Upgang Lane
X93
Between 1430 and 1630, buses in Whitby will call at the Park & Ride (with connections to/from the town
centre) but will not serve Downdinner Hill or bus station
Buses leaving Scarborough at 1350, 1420, 1450 and 1520 will run via A170 and A169, and will not serve any
of the normal route between Scarborough and Whitby (buses towards Scarborough are not affected)
Buses may miss Robin Hood’s Bay at short notice during the afternoon if police believe the volume of
spectators makes it unsafe to run buses along those lanes

In Scarborough, stops at St Thomas Street, Aberdeen Walk and Castle Road will be closed after 1500. Buses will
use a temporary stop on Northway (near Cash Converters) during this time.
7/17 Between 1200 and 1300, buses will run via Musham Bank Road, missing Manham Hill and Crossgates

The 1430, 1500 and 1530 from Scarborough will terminate at Scalby, and the 1505, 1535 and 1605 from
Cloughton will start from Scalby – these buses will not serve Burniston or Cloughton
45/46 In Bridlington, 0900 and 0940 from York, and 1145 to York, will run to/from Quay Street, not bus station

Saturday 2 May
In York, city centre stops on Piccadilly/Merchantgate, Clifford Street, Stonebow and Rougier Street will be out of
use from the start of the day until 1900. During these times, most services will terminate at York Railway Station,
Station Road or Barbican bus hub (near Fishergate). Blossom Street will be closed outbound, so all buses from
York Railway Station heading west will depart from outside the station and then run via Leeman Road.
