2015 Gibbs Gardens Photo Contest
This is the first photography contest sponsored by Gibbs Gardens. The
winners’ photographs will be on display during the Waterlily Festival, October
3 through 11.
Deadline for Entries is 5:00 p.m. on September 20, 2015.
Photographs must have been taken during the period from March 2012 through
September 2015.
Guidelines for Entries (limit of 12 entries per person)
1. Open to amateur photographers ONLY (i.e., an individual’s income, no
matter how small, cannot come from their work as a photographer.)
2. Photographs must be original work of the entrant and cannot include pets
or people. All photographs must be taken at Gibbs Gardens.
3. Categories
Flowers and Foliage – includes individual or groups of shrubs
and trees, annuals, perennials and bulbs.
Landscape Scenes – includes plants and water or buildings,
bridges, streams, sculptures and gates.
Waterlilies – individual or clusters of waterlilies.
Fauna – birds and insects in the Gardens or on plants in the
Gardens.
A. All photos must be mounted on Foam Core board or a 4-ply mounting
board. A finished entry size (including mounting board) must be
a minimum of 8 inches and a maximum of 20 inches in any direction.
Entries must be flush mounted or matted.
B. Photos must be mounted and ready to hang for exhibition.
C. No glass, shrink wrap, frames, hooks or metal clips are permitted.
D. Personal identification of any type is not allowed on the front of the entry
photo or matting. This includes quotes, titles, photographer’s name, etc.
E. Place Part 2 of the entry form on the backside of your entry in the upper left
hand corner to denote the “Top/Up” side of your entry.
F. An entry form should be completed for each photo you submit.
G. Entries may be dropped off at Gibbs Gardens’ Visitors Welcome Center
from September 15 to 20, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ONLY. Entries will not be
accepted at any other times.
H. While all due care will be taken to prevent damage or loss of any entry,
Gibbs Gardens, LLC, its employees, agents or judges assume no
liability for damage or loss that may occur as a result of entering the
Gibbs Gardens Photography Contest.
Winners will retain ownership of their work but agree to let Gibbs Gardens
use their photographs on Gibbs Gardens’ web site and Facebook Page with
credit given to the photographer. Winners agree to provide electronic versions
of their photographs for this purpose.
1st Prize $200 cash
2nd Prize $100 cash
3rd Prize Gibbs Gardens’ 4-Season Memberships for 2 people (valid for one
year from date of issue)

discarded.
