As the busy Spring season approaches, I
would like to take this opportunity to explain
to you how Gibbsville Implement is preparing
to serve its customers in the months ahead.
In a major effort beginning last Fall we've
taken the opportunity to reinvest in additional
staff, facilities, support vehicles, and
employee training more heavily than any

other year we've been in business. We're
excited about the opportunity this presents us in being even better
equipped and ready to support our customer's needs and businesses.
In today's technology-driven world Gibbsville Implement has adopted
the position that investments in continual learning and employee
advancement are critical to staying ahead of the curve. We believe
that the dealer who neglects this area will quickly find himself forced
to play "catch up" with those of it’s peers who had the foresight to see
training as a costly, albeit essential investment. Just this past year
alone we have sent our employees to training courses at the following
locations; San Diego, CA., San Antonio, TX., Great Falls, MT.,
Hesston, KS., Kansas City, MO., Louisville, KY., Jackson, MN., and
Cedar Rapids, IA., along with other various in-state training locations
such as LaCrosse, Brodhead, Stevens Point, and Milwaukee. This is
in addition to the countless days spent participating in online training
webinars and service certification programs. The dollars Gibbsville
Implement has spent in this area have been substantial, but we
believe these investments give us a distinct advantage compared to
our competition when our customers are deciding where and with
whom they want to do business.

also allowed
us to go
ahead with a
building
expansion. A
little over 10 years ago, when we built and moved into our current
location, we realized that the shop would probably be the first area
where additional room would be needed. This came a bit sooner
than expected, but with the size of today's equipment and continued
customer support we felt now was the right time to go ahead with the
plan. Like most building projects, no matter how much you prepare,
delays always seem to be part of the process. We just recently
moved in and are excited about how the extra room will allow us to
faster respond and service our customers. Be sure to stop in and
check it out during our Customer Appreciation Day.
One individual who has been a major contributor
to the growth we've experienced not only in our
Service Department, but throughout our dealership has been Bob Radder. Bob has been leading our Service Team for the past 10 years and
has plans to semi-retire this upcoming Summer if
we can't convince him otherwise. Ha, ha. To help
ease the transition Bob will be staying on
part-time to assist with warranty administration and as a consultant
as we train his replacement. We as a dealership, management and
employees alike, have thoroughly enjoyed working alongside Bob and
have benefited from the stability and knowledge he contributed to our
organization. Thanks for everything Bob.
There are also some noteworthy things happening in our Parts
Department, with the first being adding additional staff to help support
our customers. Dave Koenig comes to us with previous parts
experience and has already proven to be a valuable asset to our
dealership as well as to our customers. We're excited about having
him come on board as a part of our team.
We've also
expanded our
Parts Sales route
to three days per
week as of the first
of this year. We
now travel West on
Mondays, North on
Wednesdays and
South on Fridays. We purchased a new delivery van with extra
space that will allow us to accommodate larger parts such as bunker
covers, ag bags, net wrap, twine, oil, hay preservative, tillage parts,
etc. We also plan on carrying a stock of various fast moving parts
that will be sold directly from the van along the delivery route. Simply
call our Parts Department and we'll deliver whatever you need directly
to your farm, free of charge. Most dealerships don't offer on-farm
delivery, stating the substantial cost of operation as the main reason
for not being able to justify offering the service to their customers.
Here at Gibbsville Implement we're serious about customer service
and more than willing to go the extra mile. The parts delivery service
we provide is a great example of literally, just that.
Another new offering we're providing our customers is the new
"Agco Plus" financing program.
Agco Plus is Agco's version of
Farm Plan, but with interest rates
that average approximately 2%
lower. Currently new signups
qualify for 6 months interest free
financing on Agco Parts or Service performed over $500. Many of
our customers have elected to take advantage of this program and it
has proven to be a great option for those large preseason orders of
bale preservative, twine, tillage parts, etc., with customers not having
to pay the balance until later in the Fall when cash flow is more readily available. Ask someone in our Parts or Service Department for
details on how to sign up.
New to our Reception/Accounting Department is Brooke Wilterdink.
Brooke, raised just down the road on a dairy farm in Hingham, WI.,
brings a can-do attitude and is a pleasure to be around. Brooke's
personality is a bit reserved and she tends to be quieter than some,
at times almost stealthy. She's like our office ninja, but with fabulous
typing and computer skills. We're really happy to have Brooke. Say
"hi" the next time you stop in…If you can find her.
We also have a few
new products in the
sales department that
we are excited about
being able to offer to
our customers. Kuhn's
new MM902 continuous
merger is a machine
that is sure to attract some major attention this year. The MM902
was completely redesigned with an updated pickup, enhanced
floatation system, and improved ground following ability. This
exciting machine is in stock and ready to demo this Spring.
Kuhn Knight introduced the new
SLC Pro-twin slinger spreaders
this past year. Improvements in
the drive system and discharge
design along with the addition of a
2,600 gallon model highlight this
new series. We have a SLC132
currently in stock if you want to
stop in and take a look.
Massey Ferguson has also rolled out
new models of utility and compact
tractors that we now have in stock at
the dealership. The new 1700
compact tractors have a new
redesigned operator platform with
advanced hydrostatic controls that set
them apart from the competition. Also
stop in and take note of the new
Massey Ferguson 5613 utility tractor. Operator visibility is definitely
something that will stand out when
you climb up in the cab of new 5600
series.
