“I’ve been around this group of kids and their families for years. They are the kids and families that built
this great tradition and family that we call Glendale Soccer. They love our traditions and are proud to
compete for the patch. It is hard to believe we will be putting our hands in the circle and saying Glendale
for the last time soon. I hope the memories and lessons learned will serve them forever. They have
always been respectful and appreciative. I love them all like my own, and no matter where they are in life
it will always be a family thing!” …Papa
Sandra Bitny-Szlachto –
Midfield
When did you begin playing soccer/How many years playing
Soccer?: This is my first year of soccer.
Favorite Glendale Soccer Memory: We were playing soccer
in P.E. A friend and me got upset because the guys would
play ego and wouldn’t give us the ball, so we decided to stop
playing and just stay around. Then, they finally passed the
ball to us, and we did nothing (out of protest)…they told us we
have reflexes like a refrigerator.
Playing for Coach Rogers: During our first game against
Ozark when Coach told me to get ready because he’s going to
play me. I got very nervous and started freaking out. I worried that I’m going to mess up, and
Coach tried to calm me down saying “they have already messed up”.
Post Graduation Plans: I am going back to Germany and finish high school. I am actually also
thinking about joining a soccer team over there.
Advice for Future Falcons: If you have fun playing soccer, just do it! Don’t worry you might
be too bad for it. Just have fun!
I would like to thank: Papa for being supportive and encouraging me to play soccer…especially
during our first game! Also, I would like to thank Kasey for encouraging me to join the soccer
team! I had a great time so far, and don’t regret it!
“Berlin is our foreign exchange student who loves to figure out these crazy Ozarkians. I know
she is having a great time and her confidence as a player grows every day. I also know she will
look back on her memories of Glendale soccer and smile.” …Coach Rogers
Autumn Davis – Defense
When did you begin playing soccer/How many years playing
Soccer?: Freshman year…4 years
Favorite Glendale Soccer Memory: Just being at all the
games and making friends.
Playing for Coach Rogers: You are a good coach, and I loved
playing for you. I couldn’t see myself playing soccer for any
other team.
Post Graduation Plans: Going to College for Theatre Arts.
Advice for Future Falcons: Have fun and work hard.
I would like to thank: Coach Rogers for being a great coach
and my Dad for supporting me.
“Autumn is one of the hardest working kids I have ever coached.
She never quits and will stay late to finish a run or other activities.
I am proud of her for working hard every day to improve as a
player, and she makes us all better for her effort.” …Coach Rogers
Ashley Baum - Defense
When did you begin playing soccer/How many years playing
Soccer?: 5 years old at the YMCA
Favorite Glendale Soccer Memory: Last year when Coach
Rogers came into the locker room throwing our Candy jerseys
while the song “I Love Candy” was playing. And of course,
Papa and all of his thoughts…
Playing for Coach Rogers: It’s nice to know that there are
still coaches that care about how the players are doing on and
off the field rather than just winning or the record. He teaches
us to be good people.
Post Graduation Plans: I plan on attending Columbia College
Chicago and majoring in Marketing.
Advice for Future Falcons: Take advantage of everything that comes your way. Time flies by a
lot quicker than you think – if you see an opportunity, take it!
I would like to thank: Coach Rogers, Coach Carl, my family and especially my brother for
inspiring and encouraging me in everything that I do. .
“Ash is following her big brother's example by being a great defender and has the ability to shut
down players for us. She has definitely seen her share of great forwards throughout her career
and works hard every day to be a better player. She has also played some outside mid for us and
does a great job running down the flanks.”…Coach Rogers
Megan Burke - Goalkeeper
When did you begin playing soccer/How many years playing
Soccer?: Age 6 – 12 years
Favorite Glendale Soccer Memory: The bus rides and dinners
were fun…my favorites were the St. Louis trips!
Playing for Coach Rogers: Coach Rogers is an amazing
coach. He is always positive and wants us to be the best we
can be as individuals and a team…on and off the field.
Post Graduation Plans: Playing college soccer
somewhere…don’t know where yet.
Advice for Future Falcons: Practice hard, play hard and
always remember to have FUN.
I would like to thank: My parents, Coach Rogers and my teammates for always being there for
me and encouraging me.
“Megz has been an angel sent from above for us this year. She is very technical and does a
great job of shutting down the angles on opposing teams. She has a great work ethic and has
immediately fit in to our crazy Gdale world. I'm excited to see her compete in post season.
…Coach Rogers
Kennedy Graves - Forward
When did you begin playing soccer/How many years playing
Soccer?: I started playing soccer at 4 years old, and I’ve been
playing for about 12 years now.
Favorite Glendale Soccer Memory: My favorite memory
would have to be freshman year when DP (Dani Pearce)
scored in the last 30 seconds against Kickapoo, and when
Papa figured out what “thoughts” meant (warm toasty
thoughts).
Playing for Coach Rogers: Playing for Coach Rogers is the
best experience you will ever have. He’s an understanding,
caring and loveable guy. He wants to see you grow and
succeed, and that’s the best you can get from a coach. He
jokes and makes things fun but also knows how to get down to business. He’s an amazing coach
that succeeds in all that he does and teaches. I’m more than happy that I got to play for him four
years of my high school career.
Post Graduation Plans: Once I graduate, I have signed to play volleyball at Missouri Valley,
and I plan to major in criminology.
Advice for Future Falcons: Little ones never share a bed with Kristin…EVER (LOL). Also
always work hard and stick together; you make some of the best memories with these girls and
it’s truly amazing so never leave each other; when you see an opportunity take it! I love you all,
and I’m so happy I got to be a part of all your lives.
I would like to thank: I would like to thank my mother (Melissa), grandmother (Mema), my
sister (Payton) and father (Chris) for always being so supportive of me and always there to cheer
me on and believing in me. There are no other people I love and care about more than you guys
so thank you so much!! I would also like to thank Coach Rogers for being such a great coach to
me and teaching me all I can know. And Kate Arthur for being the best little sister ever - I love
you!
“Kennedy is so fun to watch chasing down a ball. She can reach out and make things happen
that throws defenders off. She has had a slow start due to injury but will have a great senior
campaign. She has the ability to make all laugh, which is critical in team sports.”
…Coach Rogers
Kasey Opfer - Midfield
When did you begin playing soccer/How many years playing
Soccer?: I began playing soccer about the time I started
walking……probably around 12 or 13 years.
Favorite Glendale Soccer Memory: Playing with my big sis,
Alix…Most of the time .
Playing for Coach Rogers: I’ve known Papa since I was a
baby, and he’s always been such an awesome coach and
person. He is the reason Glendale Soccer does so well and
why so many people want to play. He makes it a lot of fun to
be a Falcon!
Post Graduation Plans: Playing soccer at Iowa State
University and studying International Business and Spanish.
Advice for Future Falcons: STAY OUT OF DRAMA! Work hard for yourself and your
teammates. Most important…have FUN playing!
I would like to thank: My awesome family and parents for driving me everywhere, the food, the
love and endless support.
“It seems like Kase has been around the program her whole life. She is hands down one of the
toughest kids I have ever coached. I love her competitive spirit but also her fun loving laugh.
She is the very best of her older sisters.”…Coach Rogers
Dani Pearce - Midfield
When did you begin playing soccer/How many years playing
Soccer?: I started playing soccer at age 3, so I’ve been
playing for 14 years.
Favorite Glendale Soccer Memory: My favorite Glendale
memory was during story time and the line, “warm toasty
thoughts” was read.
Playing for Coach Rogers: Coach Rogers has not only been
an amazing coach who realizes there’s more to life than high
school soccer, but he also knows that the things we experience
right now and how we respond to certain things shape us for
the rest of our lives. I love how he’s not worried about how
we play for his benefit, but that he wants us to win for US.
He’s a coach and a mentor. We call him “Papa Rogers” for a reason.
Post Graduation Plans: I will be playing soccer in Illinois at Greenville College.
Advice for Future Falcons: Underclassmen get the shaft…it’s a rule…follow it!
I would like to thank: My family, all my coaches and all of my teammates.
“Don't let DP's pretty smile fool you. She loves to compete and can be seen running all over the
field to win a ball. Her motor never stops running. She can play any position on the field and
will do it with a smile.”…Coach Rogers
McKenzie Robbins - Forward
When did you begin playing soccer/How many years playing
Soccer?: Since the age of 4 – 14 years
Favorite Glendale Soccer Memory: The nights at the hotel
during tournaments are unforgettable. Between bonding over
never-have-I-ever and listening to story time. There are too
many great memories to count.
Playing for Coach Rogers: Playing for Coach Rogers has
been an experience I will never forget. He cares so much about
his teams and treats us like he would his own kids. He puts so
much effort into making every moment of every season
memorable for us, and that is one thing I will forever be
grateful for.
Post Graduation Plans: Playing soccer at Drury University.
Advice for Future Falcons: My advice to future Falcons would be never wear the color yellow;
always go double or nothing in the crossbar game; and appreciate the time you have together as a
team because it will be over before you know it.
I would like to thank: I want to thank my parents for supporting me in my soccer career for 14
years, and everything else for 18 years. To Dad…thank you for driving me multiple hours away
for club tournaments and games as I slept or put my headphones in, being the most boring
passenger ever and sometimes moody depending on how our games went. To Mom…thank you
for pretending to know and eventually learning the game of soccer and for always threatening to
beat up the girls that would knock me down on the field. Also to Halle for sitting through all of
my games even though we both know you were not watching! To the team…thank you for
giving me so many great memories to look back on and friendships I hope we will never lose.
Last to Papa, thank you for the best high school soccer career I ever could have asked for, for
caring about our team and for giving me memories I will never forget.
“Kenz/Beep-beep is a threat no matter where she is playing. She has the ability
to run alongside a defender and then look at them as she beep-beep's by them.
She has been a threat on the outside of the field as well as up top.”
…Coach Rogers
Kaitlyn Stratton - Defense
When did you begin playing soccer/How many years playing
Soccer?: When I was 4 years old
Favorite Glendale Soccer Memory: Favorite memory would
have to be any St. Louis trip. Getting to spend the weekend out
of town with some of your best friends is always fun, and we
always became so close on those trips. I will always remember
Coach Rogers reading us a bedtime story!
Playing for Coach Rogers: Playing for Coach Rogers has been
so much fun. He is a wonderful coach, and I would have not
wanted to play for anyone else. He is a great motivator and
always pushes us to do our absolute best. I will miss playing
for him very much!
Post Graduation Plans: I plan to attend the University of Arkansas where I will be studying
Pre-Law and Political Science.
Advice for Future Falcons: Always try your best and give your 110%. Hard work pays off, and
always remember to have fun and cherish these moments…it will be gone before you know it!
I would like to thank: My family for always supporting me no matter what; Coach Rogers for
always pushing me to do my best; and for all the soccer girls who have become my best friends!
“Kait comes from a sports family, and she personifies the word teammate. She works hard every
day to make herself a better player and her teammates. Kait plays both a defender and outside
mid for us and has a great long throw that allows us to start our attack.” …Coach Rogers
Olivia Wolfram - Defense
When did you begin playing soccer/How many years playing
Soccer?: At age 3 or 4
Favorite Glendale Soccer Memory: When Papa learned about
“thoughts”. Also, every single time I step on to the field with
the girls I’ve grown up with. It’s an unforgettable feeling and
something I’ll miss dearly next year, I love you guys!
Playing for Coach Rogers: It’s been amazing. Through
everything he has always been there for me and always pushes
me to be a better player and person. I don’t know where I’d be
today as a player without him. Thank you.
Post Graduation Plans: I plan on attending Lyon College in
the fall to play soccer. I am thinking of going in as a political science or physical therapy major.
Advice for Future Falcons: Work hard; keep your head up; remember that there will be ups and
downs, but people will remember how you lead. Be leaders!
I would like to thank: Papa, you’re an incredible Coach and will miss you dearly; my folks for
always supporting me and standing by through everything; and the girls I’ve played with since I
was little. Thank you for always being there for me. I don’t know what I’d do without you.
Love you guys!
“Wolfie can play multiple positions on the field which allows us to move her around in games
strategically. Her competitive fire comes out often as she will correct the officials which most
times she is correct. I have been saying for years that she is due for a big time game winner, and
this is her year to make it happen.”…Coach Rogers

Great Food. Great Service. Your
Neighborhood. Bambinos Cafe is
proud of our reputation as one the
best restaurants in town. There’s a lot
of great restaurants in Springfield MO
and so we were honored to be voted
Best Italian Food, Best Place For DateNight Dinner and Best Restaurant by
the Missouri State University
newspaper The Standard.
It can be a bit of a challenge finding
our original Delmar location tucked
back in the Phelps Grove neighborhood, but we hope that our food is worth the journey. 417 Magazine
rated us Best Hidden Restaurant and said “You have to wind back into a residential area to find this
slightly off-the-radar restaurant but it’ll be a treat when you do. The patio is large and covered, the
atmosphere is laid-back and the prices are super-reasonable.”
In 2015, we opened our second location at the intersection of Battlefield and Lone Pine in the historic
Half A Hill shopping center just off the Galloway Creek Greenway. Bambinos on Battlefield has all of
your traditional Bambinos favorites in addition to a wonderful selection of desserts from our bake
shop.
