Friday, May 1st Donated Item Collection Starts
Anyone wishing to donate any small items toward the center’s sale on Thursday
May 14th & Friday May 15th are asked to drop them off by Wednesday May 13th.
Tuesday, May 5th AARP Driver Safety Class
You do not have to be an AARP member to take advantage of this safe driving
class. All you need to do is attend this 8:30am-3:00pm class to receive lower rates
on your car insurance. Please call the Gloversville Senior Center at 725-0923 to
register. $20 AARP Members / $25 AARP Non- Members

Early detection is the key to prevention & Life Line Screening is offering Stroke/
Carotid Arty Screening/ Heart Rhythm Screening/ Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm

Wednesday, May 6th “Free” Planting Class with Sharon Svolos
from Harvey’s
Sharon will be at here at the center at 1:00pm to demonstrate how to properly
plant a garden in order to achieve your desired results. So bring your thoughts,
ideas, gardening problems & questions!!

Mother’s Day Luncheon
All 50 Plus Club Members from Gloversville & Johnstown are welcomed to attend
a special Mother’s Day Luncheon at the Gloversville Senior Center at 12:30pm.
Come and enjoy friendship, food & laughter as you celebrate this wonderful day.

Tuesday, May 12th & May 19th - Toni Simon presents “Think
Thin”
Toni uses a technique of guided imagery and meditation to help you reach your
healthy weight goal. Join the group and empower yourself to reach better health.
Session starts at 6:30 and is priced at $20 per class.
Thursday, May 14th & Friday May 15th – “Gloversville Senior
Center Second Hand Fundraiser Sale”
Do you like second hand sales & low prices? Then we have a two day sale for you!
From 8am-6pm both days the center will be holding a “Second Hand Fundraiser
Sale”. We invite everyone to stop by and shop to help out the senior center. Open
to the public!!!
Saturday, May 16th – Toni Simon & the GSC’s “Women
Empowering Women” Free Session
Toni Simon, a well –know Body, Mind & Fitness Coach, will provide lifechanging tools and techniques to enhance your life, your health and your
future. This FREE session starts at 11am and is open to the public. An
additional session is scheduled for Saturday, June 20th
Monday, May 18th – Toni Simon presents “New Moon
Meditation”
The time in and around the new moon offers a powerful opportunity for you to align
with clear vision of your path, to set intentions, and to step into positive new
beginnings. This FREE event starts at 6:30pm and is open to the public
Wednesday, May 20th – Rite Aid Prevar13 Shot Clinic
Rite Aid Pharmacy is offering a Prevar13 shot clinic at the Gloversville Senior
Center starting at 12pm. The shot is covered by most insurance plans and needs
prior approval from your physician. For further information please contact Rite
Aid and speak to Lisa at 773-7591 ext.3. After physician approval you can sign up
at the senior center by May 13th at 725-0923.
Thursday, May 21st- Homemade Pasta Making Day
Most people love pasta and boy do we have a great FREE activity planned today!
Arrive at the center at 10 to join friends in the kitchen as we make homemade
pasta together. Join in on the laughter, giggles and great food that you are
welcomed to take home and share with your family and friends.
Thursday May 28th- Men’s Fishing Day Outing and Lunch
Attention gentleman!! This day of relaxing, fishing and great conversation in our
local mountains, is specially planned for you! Bring your lucky fishing pole & join
friends as you catch the “BIG Fish” to show off to your family. Fishing Worms and
a picnic lunch is being provided for a donation of $3 per person. There will be
prizes and the day is for sure going to be a lot of fun. We will leave the center at
9:30 am and return around 3:30pm. Carpooling is appreciated and the fishing spot
will be announced soon! Please sign up in the center’s office by Tuesday, May
26th.
Friday, May 29th- Writers Circle Author Luncheon
Jill Starling, author of the novels “St. Agnes Place”/ “At This Moment” and the
children’s series “Monet the Mouse” will be at the center at 11am to discuss her
work. Following the discussion there will be an opportunity for signings. A
luncheon of pizza, salad and homemade dessert is at 1pm and is priced at $5 per
person payable at the door. Reservations appreciated.
Friday, May 29th – Toni Simon presents “Balancing Meditation”
Stressful emotions, poor nutrition, addictions, and negative thinking can deplete
and impede the energetic flow between your energy field (soul or spirit), chakra
system, and physical body. Energy balancing through meditation works directly
with our energy system to remove blockages and restore an energetic flow that is
both free moving and vibrant. The class starts at 6:30 and is open to the public at
$10 per person.
