“1ST DIVISION AT GALLIPOLI”
(A history of the 1st Division at Gallipoli from the raising of 1st Division on
15th August 1914 until the withdrawal from Gallipoli on 19th December
1915.)
SERGEANT DAVE HOY WILL BE DRESSED IN A TRADITIONAL UNIFORM.
(Sergeant Hoy has served in various roles in the Australian Army for over
40 years.)

“MAASAI” (Fiction)
The quiet waiting room of a hospital is the field of conflict between two
brothers as they are waiting for their mother to come out of the
operating room.

“THE PIVOT - 1ST AUSTRALIAN CASUALTY CLEARING STATION”
(Army Unit raised in Hobart 1914. Landed in Gallipoli morning of 25th
April 1915 to provide medical support to ANZAC Divisions)

“FOR ETERNITY” (Fiction)
When Yannis meets his wife in the other world, successive
revelations about their life, death and eternity come to the surface.
II.
“WHEN A SONG BEGINS” (Documentary)
The film “When a Song Begins” is a cinematic portrait of Maria, a
young blind girl with autism who tries to find inner peace through the
wonderful world of music.

“THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE GALLIPOLI PENINSULA IN THE
HISTORY OF ANCIENT GREECE”
(The strategic position of the Gallipoli Peninsula and the Dardanelles
meant that in Classical Antiquity, just as a more modern times, the area
was frequently the scene of conflict between the great powers of the
time. The talk focuses on some of these conflicts, especially in the great
era on Ancient Greece.)

“EVIVA” (Fiction)
Vassilis and Aris are meeting each other after long years to go to the
funeral of a mutual friend in his village. But the journey will be longer
than they originally planned.
II.
“THREE EGGHOLDERS ALMOST FOUR” (Fiction)
Charalambos has decided to fill his empty time and space with a
collection: accidentally, he will end up with a collection of egg holders.
One day he will meet Dimitra, another lonely soul but a collection
enthusiast. Their relationship will involve the pleasure of discovery and
the solid foundations of a common collection. But everything will change
during a trip to the provinces, in which the couple will face an
unprecedented temptation.

“WHAT MADE THE ANCIENT GREEKS LAUGH?”
(The Ancient Greeks, like their modern descendants – love to laugh –
Comedy, after all is a Greek word. The talk looks at some of their sources
of humour, especially jokes, witticisms and plays that the Greeks
enjoyed.)

“SCHOOL PRAYER” (Fiction)
In the Junior High School Dimitris attends, Vassilis with his friends, a
group of bullies, make him feel terror. When Dimitris is told that he has
to say the prayer, Vassilis haunts his thoughts. But what is to happen on
the day when he has to face the whole school, and especially him?

“PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THIRD AUSTRALIAN GENERAL HOSPITAL
IN LEMNOS – THE FORGOTTEN ISLAND (1915 – 1916)”
(A talk providing a background to the history of the Island of Lemnos and
its importance as a military base for operations in Gallipoli, a hospital
base and a place of recreation for Australian soldiers and nurses.

“THE ROLE OF NURSES IN WW1 AND THEIR COMMEMORATION
– AN HONOUR TO SERVE”
(A talk to dispel the myth that Australia forgot, overlooked or ignored its
nurses when they returned from war).
