Joan Varley, nature enthusiast and Langford resident
Looking to Preserve Natural Lands in Langford
Joan details her attempts to save vanishing natural spaces in Canada's fastest growing municipality.
She is among the many concerned citizens in her community who value the few natural areas which
remain scattered around our region. Learn of her struggles to feel heard among the
development focused mindset of the Langford municipality.

Coastal Kindergarten: Natural Spaces & Nature Based Education
A new initiative of outdoor learning experiences that promote discovery, play, exploration,
Aboriginal perspectives and environmental stewardship. With regular and repeated access to natural spaces
nature-based education programs provide children opportunity to build an on-going relationship of respect
with nature, other people and themselves. Carol will present learning approaches and
highlights of the year in the Coastal Kindergarten.
