Thank You to Liz Tomalis and the Parish Legion of Mary for the time and energy they put into arranging the Taize Holy Hour that was offered on Saturday, June 6, in the Church. It was a beautiful tribute to Our Lord in the Eucharist on the Feast of Corpus Christi and a refreshing prayer opportunity for all who participated. Please see an usher before Mass to sign-up for any weekend or holy day. You may also contact the Parish Office in advance to reserve a date. In addition to the BP screenings, Dr. Tran will be performing vision screenings and be available for questions regarding eye health. A Senior Search Not looking for recent graduates from high school or college, but for senior members of the parish. Periodically over the past several years phone contact has been made with the senior members of the parish, who are 80 years of age and older. The purpose of the calls is simply to let parishioners know that they are being remembered and to see if there are any particular needs with which the Caring Team can help. The Team cannot provide everything (e.g. direct medical care, financial assistance, long term home care, etc.), but there are many others ways in which helpful assistance can be offered. Over the next 3-4 weeks volunteers from the parish will be making phone contacts to say hello and to reassure senior members that the parish family is willing to help when it can. We are grateful to the more than 20 volunteers who will make the calls to the more than 300+ octogenarians on the parish census, especially Judy Wenberg, who has coordinated this effort, to Alex Anastasio, who coordinates the Caring Team, and to those who graciously provide the services that have become the hallmark of the Caring Team. God bless you all for your kindness, time and energy.
