GROUP EXERCISE - CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
GENERAL CLASSES:
BOOTCAMP This is an intense class for the
individual looking to take cardio and strength
outside the box! Training includes a combination of plyometrics, conditioning drills, and
strength training in a circuit style.
BURST This class will help you burn calories
and enhance your aerobic capacity in 1 hour!
Focus is on the HIIT protocol (High Intensity
Interval Training) giving you repeated bouts of
high intensity cardio intervals intermingled
with short periods of active rest.
CARDIO STEP: A challenging workout of repetitive exercises designed to elevate your heart
rate and challenge your muscles. Circuits are
performed on and off step incorporating body
weight exercises, hand weights, bars, and
stability balls. Circuits may be modified for all
levels of fitness.
CIRCUIT TRAINING: Move through a variety of
body conditioning, muscle endurance challenges and cardio circuits. This class moves quickly and is full of variety.
MAT PILATES: This class will focus on your
body’s “powerhouse” or the core (the abs &
back) with and added twist of legs and upper
body. Please bring a yoga mat for comfort.
MUSCLE CONDITIONING A barbell class which
strengthens and tones all your major muscle
groups. With simple athletic moves, this class
is great for all fitness levels.
PIYOLIVE®: is a fun, challenging class fusing
mat Pilates and Yoga. You will burn calories,
tone muscles, work on balance and get a great
stretch! Class is a little different each time,
but always a great workout. Bring a mat.
PILOXING® uniquely blends the power, speed
and agility of boxing with the targeted sculpting and flexibility of dance and Pilates for a
stamina building, muscle-toning, calorie burning workout. High energy and fun!
RIP® A barbell program for able-bodied men
and women of all fitness levels. Matching
movement to music and using traditional
strength training allows participants to work
at their own level and pace.
TOTAL BODY CONDITIONING Serious full body
workout utilizing free weights and other accessories that will completely strengthen and
tone your entire body. This class whips your
body into shape and builds strength.
X-FIT This is a nonstop powerhouse workout
that is guaranteed to challenge you to become
stronger, faster and increase your endurance.
Cardio and plyometric drills, along with inter-
vals of strength training, will help you achieve
your fitness goals. No two classes are the
same, so be ready to give it your max effort
and break a sweat.
ZUMBA® A fusion of Latin and international
music and dance themes creating a dynamic,
effective and fun fitness system. Zumba®
uses the principles of interval training by
combining fast and slow rhythms to tone and
sculpt. No dance experience is required.
20/20/20 Maximize your workout with 20
minutes of cardio, 20 minutes of strength and
20 minutes of core for a very efficient and
total body workout. All levels welcome.
YOGA:
AMRIT YOGA is a blend of Hatha (breath and
asana, calming balance of the body) and Raja
(meditation). It teaches the student attentive
awareness, profound relaxation in the midst of
tension and tools for overcoming anxiety, to
name a few. It is known as the Posture of
Consciousness, a timeless state of being.
FAMILY YOGA This class is a space of acceptance, play and self expression. Everyone
is encouraged to explore yoga with laughter
and creativity! Adults and children alike can
find freedom form their routines and restrictions while they move together. Registration is not required. Class pass can be obtained at Membership Desk. Bring a mat.
POWER YOGA A vigorous, fitness-based approach to yoga practice with an emphasis on
strength and flexibility. This class warms and
strengthens your muscles with active, flowing
vinyasa followed by a grounded and mindful
cool-down and stretch.
SLOW FLOW YOGA/HATHA YOGA This class is
a vinyasa practice that is taught at a slower
pace to help students find beneficial
alignment and nourishment in each pose. This
practice will offer challenges for those seeking
to deepen their practice and modifications for
those working with injuries and other limitations. This is a practice for all - leaving you
feeling energized and centered.
