Who We Are
The Grace Centre for Urban Mission exists to train and equip Christians within Toronto to
understand and to live out their faith in the city of Toronto by delivering biblical, theological,
historical and practical education and training.
The Vision
Our vision is to see Christians within Toronto cultivate a kingdom centred worldview while
developing skills needed to grow in fellowship with God, in community with one another in
better better serving our city.
Who Can Join?
Anyone interested in learning more about the faith! You do not have to be a member of Grace
Toronto Church. We would love to see these classes become a blessing to the Christian
community in Toronto. Feel free to come along and bring a friend.

The Spirituality of Early Christianity
Speaker: Rev. Dr. David Robinson
Thursdays, June 4, 11, 18, 25 from 7-9pm @ 383 Jarvis Street, Main Floor Hall
The class is an introduction to the spirituality of Early Christianity, organized around four topics: (1) the ministry of the Holy Spirit; (2) reading the Bible; (3) prayer and the spiritual disciplines; (4) the sacraments. Each class will provide an overview of the topic and close interaction
with the writings of the Church Fathers.
The Audacious Claim of Christianity
Speaker: Lyndon Jost
Tuesdays, July 7, 14, 21 from 7-9pm @ 383 Jarvis Street, Main Floor Hall
To be a Christian is to believe some pretty audacious, untenable, even bogus claims. In a secular post-Christian culture, these claims seem all the more pathetic. So how is it that Christians
continue to hold to such claims? And why? This course will seek to offer responses to these
questions from biblical, theological and historical perspectives, centering its attention on three
“audacious claims” in particular: (week 1) Jesus is God’s Son; (week 2) The Bible is God’s Word;
and (week 3) The Church is Christ’s Body.
Meeting With God

Tuesdays, August 4, 11, 18 from 7-9pm @ 383 Jarvis Street, Main Floor Hall
Most of us have been challenged to establish the habit of daily Scripture reading, but many of us
are daunted by the Bible. In this class, we will examine very practical ways for getting the most
out of a daily “quiet time.” Whether you’ve been reading the Bible for years or whether you’re
new to the faith, you can learn new ways to build intimacy with God by knowing him through
his Word.

Continuing our journey through the Apostle Paul’s Letter to the Romans, focusing on Romans
8:29, 30 and God’s sovereignty in providence, election and predestination.

Rev. Dr. David Robinson
David is the senior pastor at Westminster Chapel and an adjunct professor of theology and history at Tyndale University College & Seminary. Although he loves teaching the Bible, he also
thinks we have a lot to learn from the life and witness of Christians in the past. He’s married to
Megan and they have three kids, Samuel, Leah, and Lucas.
Rev. Howard McPhee
Howard McPhee studied at Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia, graduating in 1972. He pastored churches in New Brunswick and Ontario and is presently serving in a part-time capacity at
Grace Toronto.
Lyndon Jost
Lyndon Jost is presently an intern at Grace Toronto and completing his MDiv at Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto, where he will begin a PhD in Theological Studies in the fall.
He and his wife, Lami, have been married two years, and are newly learning to be parents to
their first child, Naomi.
Jen Michel
A wife and mother of five, Jen is also a devotional writer for Today in the Word (Moody Bible Institute) and regular contributor for Christianity Today’s blog for women, her.meneutics. In August
2014, Jen had released her first book with InterVarsity Press entitled, Teach Us to Want: Longing,
Ambition and the Life of Faith. She had also served as Director for Children’s Ministry in Grace
Toronto Church. Wendy Stringer
Wendy lives in the world’s greatest city with her husband, Kiernan, and their seven kids. They
both serve at Grace, shaping, leading, and teaching in discipleship ministry. She loves to explore
the biblical stories of men and women, particularly in the Old Testament; their broken lives, how
we’re just like them, and how Jesus met them and meets us, right in our most painful places.
