At the 62-seat restaurant, you’ll find 12 different bowls of ramen — ranging from garlic tonkotsu shoyu ramen, the restaurant’s spin on the ultra rich and porky Hakata-style soup, to chicken ramen and Tsukemen dipping noodles, most available in traditional and low-sodium versions — a handful of rice dishes and small izakaya plates, including takoyaki (octopus dumplings), chicken karaage, pork buns and more. For those already familiar with Kukai’s menu, the Beaverton location will debut a smattering of new dishes, including a more classic version of tonkotsu, made with a shio broth base, a spicy miso ramen (coming in the next few weeks) and a few izakaya plates. These dishes will slowly be added to the menu at other locations. Behind the bar, the restaurant offers a selection of sake by the glass and in bottles, as well as Japanese beers and cocktails.
