Burt, Public Relations Specialist, 704-4508; 877-284-6237 x 2508 A Tribute to the Queen of Country Music In North Mason, local entertainer “Elizabeth” sings homage to Patsy Cline Multi-talented Elizabeth Stierle, half of the duo “Buck and Elizabeth” gives voice to country and pop music star Patsy Cline on Thursday, March 12 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the North Mason Timberland Library. She’ll be accompanied by her husband, Paul, formerly of the folk music group, the New Christy Minstrels. Perennially on music industry “best of” lists, Patsy Cline was one of the most acclaimed and influential vocalists of the 20th century. She became the top female country artist and the first to successfully cross over to pop music with her 1957 hit “Walking after Midnight.” Later came hits such as “I Fall to Pieces,” “She’s Got you,” “Sweet Dreams,” and country gems including “Blue Moon of Kentucky,” “San Antonio Rose,” and “The Tennessee Waltz.” She died at age 30 in a private airplane crash at the height of her career. Stierle’s voice has been compared to Cline’s in its depth, soul and passion. An accomplished ventriloquist, Stierle also has a comedic side that she’ll likely reveal at the concert. She grew up in Oklahoma and lives in Castle Rock. She and Paul perform regularly at schools, fairs and libraries as Cowboy Buck and Elizabeth. The program, sponsored by the Friends of the North Mason Timberland Library, will take place in the library meeting room after regular hours. No other library services will be available. All programs at Timberland libraries are free and open to the public. Please note: The performance is part of the annual meeting of the Friends of the North Mason Timberland Library who will conduct a brief business meeting prior to the performance.
