About Grassmarket Centre
The Grassmarket Centre is available to hire for events, conferences, celebrations, weddings and
parties, from 10 – 200 people. We have a variety of spaces available, some with staging and audio
visual equipment. As well as teas, coffees, light lunches and buffets our catering team can also
deliver a full table service with high quality menus to suit your requirements.
Grassmarket Centre is a social enterprise project within the heart of Edinburgh’s Grassmarket
area, nestled at the foot of Candlemaker Row. We operate from within a fabulous award winning
architectural building, in a city centre location. Grassmarket Centre marries the historical
Greyfriars Kirkhouse with a contemporary and fresh conference, events, musical performance and
wedding reception venue.
Exceptional events and successful entertaining requires a unique venue. Escape the confines of
Edinburgh’s many historic venues and revel in our contemporary surroundings with a unique
ethical, social and heritage twist. Flexible, inspiring and located in one of Edinburgh most densely
populated independent shopping quarters.
All events are personalised around the individual needs of the client to maximise the impact of
their event. Where catering is sought, bespoke menus can be devised by our versatile kitchen
team; ranging from buffets to canapé receptions and a full dining experience.
Boasting a full theatre license and cinema license Grassmarket Centre is able to adapt itself to a
variety of uses from ceilidhs to theatre spaces, wedding receptions to corporate away days and
conferences. The hall is fully equipped with state of the art sound and lighting equipment and
technical assistance can be provided upon request.
Events are serviced with a well-integrated team of professionals and Centre members from
Grassmarket Community Project and we have received outstanding feedback regarding how we
facilitate this balance without compromising on the quality of service you should expect. Our
hospitality team will ensure that your event runs smoothly, without a hitch, and is positively
memorable for both the organiser and guests alike.
