Press Guidelines for
Global Symposium on Scientific Breakthroughs
1. If you would like to coverage this symposium, please fill out the "Press
Registration Form" and send it to the address provided on the form by 17:00,
May 22 (Fri).
2. On the day of the symposium, we will open reception desk at 8:30 am in
front of Ascot Hall on the B2F of the South Wing, Hotel Okura Tokyo. Kindly
note that you are required to provide us with your name card at the
reception desk.
3. Please put on your “Press” name plate provided at the reception desk and
the armband of your company for security reasons.
4. You may be asked to go through a security check. As some congestion is
expected, please arrive on time.
5. Please set up your equipment such as TV camera and recording tools
between 8:30 and 9:00 to cover morning sessions and during the lunch
break for the afternoon sessions.
6. Only pre-registered photographers and camera operators will be permitted
to do photographing/filming. Please stay within designated areas, except for
the official press.
7. Photographing/filming should not hinder the view of other attendees. Please
refrain from moving from one camera spot to another.
8. Coverage of the symposium must be made as news items. Publishing or
broadcasting speeches for other purposes will infringe on the copyrights.
Live and/or simultaneous broadcasting of the sessions or of interviews in
any form is strictly prohibited.
9. Although we will provide English-Japanese simultaneous interpretation
during the speeches, please refrain from broadcasting (including news
reports) the voice of simultaneous interpretation.
10. Please refrain from doorstep interviewing the speakers, within and near the
venue.
11. Any inappropriate or unauthorized conduct will be just cause for
confiscating badges of individuals involved, and expelling them from the
symposium.
12. There is no press room available.
13. No electrical supply will be provided at the venue.
14. Original audio line will be provided at the media area.
Other Notes
1. Please use the parking lot of the Hotel Okura Tokyo if necessary. Please
park your car in any vacant space since the organizer will not reserve
parking spots for the symposium.
(No parking tickets will be distributed.)
2. Smoking is prohibited in the venue except in the designated area.
3. No food or drinks are allowed in the venue including the lobby (excluding
food and drinks offered by the hotel). Please have your lunch in a restaurant
of the hotel or somewhere outside the hotel.
