Guide to National Interoperability
of Mass Transit System IC Cards
Starts March 23, 2013!
PASMO can be used throughout Japan.
Supplement
A single PASMO card makes it easy to travel on interoperable trains and
bus routes nationwide* just by touching your card to the reader at the
ticket gate or on board buses. The convenience of PASMO saves you the
hassle of buying tickets during your vacation or business trip.
*“Nationwide”does not refer to all trains and bus routes in the country.
Can Be Used
Throughout Japan!
10 national IC cards can be used in the
PASMO/Suica area.
You can conveniently use any one of these ten cards within the
PASMO/Suica area*.
* There are some routes on which these cards may be unusable, so please see the map of interoperable areas, consult the
PASMO usage guide, or ask the relevant train or bus operator.
