HOW TO REACH THE GUEST HOUSE
The Accommodation for IASTA -2012 delegates has been arranged in Training school guest House/
New Bachelor’s Hostel located in Anushaktinagar.
Few rooms are also booked in Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) located in VN Purav
Marg ahead of the Anushaktingar Bus Depot. This is outside the Anushaktinagar area.
The nearest local train station, Mankhurd (harbour line) is located at 2 km from the Anushaktinagar.
By Air
From Airport (Domestic): You may take a pre-paid taxi to Anushakti Nagar Bus Terminus. The
approximate distance is 20 km and the fare is about Rs.250/-. If you wish to take an AC cab (cool cab)
this will cost almost double. It is always advisable to take a pre-paid taxi or a cool cab from the airport.
By Rail
1. From Railway Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminal (CST/VT)
a. If you alight at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) formally known as Victoria
Terminus (VT), buy a suburban train ticket (1st class or 2nd class) to Mankhurd
railway station and board the suburban train (Central Railway Harbor Line) marked M,
VA, BR, KD or PL. The journey time is approximately 55 minutes. Order of suburban
stations on the route are Mumbai CST, Masjid bunder, Sandhurst Road, Dockyard Road,
Reay Road, Cotton green, Sewri, Wadala Road, GTB Nagar, Chunabhatti, Kurla, Tilak
Nagar, Chembur, Govandi and Mankhurd.
b. Alight at the Mankhurd railway station and come out of the station on the east side
(Platform No. 2 side).
c. Take an auto-rickshaw (three-wheeler) to BARC Training school Hostel (TSH).
d. It goes via Anushakti Nagar Residential complex. After getting security clearance (gate
pass at Anushaktinagar gate) take the straight road upto TSH.
e. Contact Reception for your Accommodation booking.
f. Cab from the CST to Anushaktinagar will charge around Rs 250/-.
2. From Railway Dadar Terminal
a. If you alight at Dadar Terminus/local station (both are adjacent to each other)
b. You may directly take a taxi to Anushakti Nagar or BARC North Gate. The taxi fare will
be about Rs.150/-. It is not advisable to take the suburban train from Dadar (Central
Railway Main Line) in the evening after 3pm, especially on a working day.
c. If you still wish to come by the suburban train (Central Railway Main Line), buy a ticket
to Mankhurd railway station. This is a direct ticket and will be valid for the journey
upto Mankhurd Railway station.
d. Take a suburban train (Fast or Slow) which goes either upto Kurla station or passes
through Kurla Station, and get down at Kurla station. Order of suburban stations on the
route are Matunga, Sion and Kurla.
e. Take the Foot over bridge then change over to Harbor line train on platform number 7
to take another suburban train (Central Railway) Harbor Line. Order of suburban
stations on the route are Tilak Nagar, Chembur, Govandi and Mankhurd.
f. Alight at Mankhurd railway station and come out of the station on the east side
(Platform No. 2 side).
g. Follow steps (1. c to 1. e) to reach destination.
3. From Lokmanya Tilak (Kurla) Railway Terminus (Central Railway)
a. If you alight at Kurla Terminus, you may take an auto-rickshaw (three-wheeler) to
Anushakti Nagar or BARC North Gate. Auto fare will be about Rs. 70/-.
b. If you wish to come by the local train buy a ticket to Mankhurd and board suburban
train (Central Railway Harbor Line) from Tilak Nagar suburban station. Order of
suburban stations on the route are Chembur, Govandi and Mankhurd.
c. After alighting at the Mankhurd station, come out of the station on the east side
(Platform No. 2 side).
d. Follow steps (1. c to 1. e) to reach your destination.
4. From Railway Terminal Mumbai Central (Western Railway)
a. If you alight at Mumbai Central /local station (both are adjacent to each other)
b. You may directly take a taxi to Anushakti Nagar or BARC North Gate. The taxi fare will
be about Rs. 250/-. It is not advisable to take the suburban train from Mumbai Central
(Western Railway) in the evening after 3pm, especially on a working day.
c. If you wish to come by the suburban train (Western Railway), buy a ticket to Mankhurd
railway station. This is a direct ticket and will be valid for the journey upto Mankhurd
Railway station.
d. Take a suburban train (Fast or Slow) which goes either upto Dadar station or passes
through Dadar Station, and get down at Dadar station. Order of suburban stations on
the route are Mahalaxmi, Lower Parel, Elphinstone Road and Dadar (West). Take the
Foot over bridge (towards East side) then change over to Dadar (Central Railway).
e. Follow steps (2. d to 2. g) to reach destination
5. From Railway Terminal Bandra (Western Railway)
a. You may directly take a taxi to Anushakti Nagar or BARC North Gate. The taxi fare will
be about Rs. 190/-. It is not advisable to take the suburban train from Bandra (Western
Railway). A cheaper option would be to take an auto-rickshaw to Anushakti Nagar /
BARC. Auto fare from Bandra Terminal will be about Rs. 100/-.
b. Another option is traveling by bus (BEST buses) from Bandra Bus stand Route number
371 directly to Anushakti Nagar Bus depot.
c. Walk towards west side (2-3 Minutes) and you will see the Anushakti Nagar Main Gate.
d. Take an auto-rickshaw (three-wheeler) to TSH BARC.
e. It goes via Anushakti Nagar Residential complex. After getting security clearance (gate
pass at Anushaktinagar gate) take the straight road upto TSH.
f. Contact Reception for your Accommodation booking.
HBCSE guest house is near to the Anushaktinagar Bus depot. After getting security
clearance from HBCSE security gate please proceed to the guest house reception area
for accommodation booking.
