VILLAGE OF GROSSE TETE MINUTES
REGULAR MEETING
April 9, 2015
The Board of Alderman of the Village of Grosse Tete held their regular meeting at the Town Hall in Grosse Tete
April 9, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.
Mayor Michael Chauffe called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Attorney Larry Bossier led the Prayer. Fire
Chief Michael Hughes led the pledge of allegiance. Mayor Chauffe called roll and the meeting began.
Present: Mayor Michael Chauffe, Alderwoman Jeanie David, Alderman Kyle Booksh, Alderman Marcus Hill,
Public Works Supervisor Phillip Faveroth, Attorney Larry Bossier, Clerk Pam George, and Fire Chief Michael
Hughes
Absent: Chief of Police Tommy Dardenne
George Francise – Splash Pad: Mr. Francise could not make it to the meeting; however, Alderman Kyle Booksh
distributed information and/or research he had performed using the ideas of the Mayor and Board of Alderman.
Mayor Chauffe was instructed to submit the information provided to Mr. Francise and report back to the Board of
Alderman.
Minutes: Alderman Marcus Hill made a motion to dispense with the reading and approve the minutes from the
March 12, 2015 regular meeting. The motion was seconded by Alderwoman Jeanie David. The motion passed 30.
Finances: Alderwoman Jeanie David made a motion to approve the financial statements of March 31, 2015 as
presented. This motion was seconded by Alderman Kyle Booksh and passed 3- 0.
Mayor’s Report:
Fair Housing Month Proclamation – The Board of Alderman unanimously approved a proclamation declaring
April 2015 as Fair Housing Month in the Village of Grosse Tete.
Sidewalk Project – A Plan in Hand Meeting was held with representatives from DOTD, Mayor Chauffe and Forte
and Tablada engineering firm. Corrections were discussed and the plans will be revised again to reflect the
comments noted by DOTD. The plan will again go to DOTD for approval.
Mayor Chauffe stated that he had met with an engineer from Fort & Tablada to get an idea of the cost of
extending sewer to the residents of Sidney Road. Mayor Chauffe will bring information back to the Board of
Aldermen.
Walking Trail – The sale of the Angelloz Property has been completed and filed into the records of the Iberville
Parish Clerk of Court. Alderwoman Jeanie David attended a Parks & Recreation conference in Lafayette, La.
She brought back information in regards to creating a walking trail on the property purchased.
A motion was made by Alderman Kyle Booksh and seconded by Alderwoman Jeanie David to have Mayor
Chauffe contact the president of the Louisiana Parks and Recreation Board of Directors to obtain information on
designing a master plan for this project. This motion passed 3 -0.
Contract for Sewer Project on Big Dee Lane – A motion was made by Alderman Kyle Booksh and seconded by
Alderman Marcus Hill to enter into a contract with Fort & Tablada for the Sewer Project on Big Dee Lane. This
motion passed 3 – 0.
Ordinance No. 1 of 2015 – Amendment to Chapter 2 (Administration) Section 2-48 (Salaries of Officials) – A
roll call vote was conducted and the ordinance was voted on as follows: YEAS: Kyle Booksh, Marcus Hill,
Jeanie David NAYS: None ABSTENTIONS: None
Police Department: No Report given.
Fire Department: No report given.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
