Grundisburgh & Culpho Parish Council Mr.Dennis Crowe - Chairman, Ceanchor House, Otley Road, Grundisburgh WOODBRIDGE, Suffolk IP13 6RZ Email:[email protected] Telephone 01473-738174 2015 ANNUAL PARISH MEETING Dear Resident, This year the ANNUAL PARISH MEETING will be held in Grundisburgh’s Village Hall on TUESDAY 28th APRIL, starting at 7.00pm. . Our guest speaker this year will be Mary Moore. Mary was the wife of Hector Moore the famous blacksmith who created most of the village signs we have in Suffolk. His family tradition is steeped in blacksmithing and they were known as blacksmiths in the Brandeston area since the 17th century Mary married Hector in 1954. As an Art Student she brought her design skills to the Forge and they were soon preparing special commissions for establishments such as Trusthouse Forte for The Bull at Long Melford, Bury St.Edmunds Cathedral and elsewhere. She has worked on 53 Village and commemorative signs, most of them her design. Grundisburgh sign was architect-designed but Hector and Mary worked on it together. She gives a fascinating illustrated talk on her life with Hector. During the meeting reports will be given by a representative sample of village organisations. There will be opportunities to ask questions throughout and wine, soft drinks and a buffet supper will be served at the end of the meeting to give you the opportunity to meet your friends and to speak informally to our Parish Councillors, District & County Councillors and our Community Police Officer.
