Division of Graduate Studies 2015 Commencement Ceremony Tuesday, June 23, 2015 4 PM Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Please read this FAQ carefully. It contains important Commencement Ceremony deadlines. Missing a deadline may prevent you from participating in the exercises. Please note that by receiving this FAQ you are a prospective graduate. It does not confirm that you will be graduating. You are only an official graduate of Touro College after final certification of records. Am I eligible to participate in the Commencement Ceremony? You are eligible to participate in the Commencement Ceremony if you applied for and received a September 2014 or January 2015 degree, or if you have applied for a June 2015 graduation date. Is the fee I pay when I submit my graduation application waived if I do not choose to participate in the Commencement Ceremony? No. All students must pay the graduation fee whether or not they participate in the Commencement Ceremony. Where is the Commencement Ceremony being held? The June 2015 Commencement Ceremony will be held at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center (Columbus Avenue and 65th Street, Manhattan, New York) What time is the Commencement Ceremony and when will I be permitted to enter? The Commencement Ceremony begins promptly at 4:00PM on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Graduates must arrive no later than 3:15PM. Graduates may enter Avery Fisher Hall beginning at 3:00PM through the main lobby entrance. What time should my guests arrive? The main lobby entrance of Avery Fisher Hall will open at 3:00PM. Guests will not be allowed to enter the auditorium before 3:30PM. Are there accommodations for people with disabilities? Yes. Avery Fisher Hall has entrance and seating accommodations for physically challenged participants and guests. Can I get in if I am late? Any graduate arriving later than 3:30PM may be denied entrance to Avery Fisher Hall or may be seated in the general audience section at the discretion of Touro College and Avery Fisher Hall staff. How should I dress? Please dress in business attire. Jeans, t-shirts, sneakers, or flip-flops are not appropriate attire for the Commencement Ceremony. How do I order my cap and gown? 2015 graduates must order their caps and gowns online from Oak Hall Cap and Gown. To order your cap and gown please go to: www.oakhalli.com/tourocollege Cap and gown orders have opened and must be completed by Wednesday, April 29, 2015. A bulk order will be placed for those who missed the deadline to order their cap and gown. You can pick up a cap and gown during the dates of distribution. Where do I pick up my Commencement Packet (cap, gown, and tickets)? Commencement Packets may be picked up as follows (unless otherwise advised by your program chair): Dates: Monday, June 1 (10AM-5PM) Tuesday, June 2 (10AM-5PM) Wednesday, June 3 (10AM-5PM) Thursday, June 4 (10AM-5PM) Friday, June 5 (10AM-1PM) Location: Touro College, 27 West 23rd Street, New York, NY 10010, 5th floor, room 501. Where can I pick up my tickets and how many will I receive? Tickets will be included in your Commencement Packet. Each candidate will be given one (1) Student Ticket for admission to Avery Fisher Hall. This ticket is non-transferable to guests or other participants. Be sure to bring this ticket with you the day of graduation. Without it, you will be denied entry to Avery Fisher Hall. Each candidate will receive two (2) Guest Tickets. If available, extra guest tickets will be distributed on Monday, June 22, 2015, on a first-come, first-served basis. Be sure that family members and guests arrive with their tickets. Avery Fisher Hall security personnel will not admit guests into the building without tickets under any circumstance. Children two years of age and older must have a Guest Ticket for admittance. When is the last day to apply for graduation? The last day to apply for a June 2015 graduation is Friday, May 1, 2015. To ensure that your name is listed in the official 2015 Commencement Program, your application must be submitted by May 1, 2015. Candidates are expected to pick up their Commencement Packets in person. In the event that you are unable to pick up your packet, you may send a representative who must present the following: A signed letter from you authorizing the pick up A copy of your photo ID
