Job Search Core Series
Job Search Strategies
Where should you start in your job search? What strategies
should you use? Can we learn about the employers mindset?
Come learn some online and offline strategies for an effective
job search.
Networking
Learn how to access the 80% of jobs that never get advertised
using networking, cold calling, 30 second speeches and
informational interviews.
Resumes One
This workshop covers the basics of creating successful
resumes. We will discuss appearance, content, types, employer
expectations, effective bullet points and accomplishment
statements.
Resumes Two – Targeting
Come to this workshop to work on targeting your resume to a
specific employer. Learn how to make it stand out from the
crowd.
Resumes Three – Computer Lab
The final piece to the resume puzzle. Hands on computer
assistance for old and new resumes.
Interviews One
Discussion surrounding first impressions, dress for success,
types of interviews, examples of questions and answers, shared
experiences, do’s and don’ts, and practice and preparation.
Interviews Two
The focus of this workshop is to prepare and practice for
upcoming interviews. It is a great way to evaluate performance
and receive feedback.

This series is meant to help people focus their life, think about
their desired destination, and learn how to get on the path to
their own success.
Get Connected Job Club
One of the best ways to find work is by connecting to
people. This is for motivated, job ready individuals looking
to network and challenge themselves to conduct an effective
job search.
Motivation
Why would one want to work? What are your essential
motivators? And what are your biggest distractions? Come
learn the key to moving forward.
Time Management
“Take Time to Make Time.” Come learn some effective
strategies to make the best use of your time and ultimately
improve the quality of your life.
Self Confidence
A life skills workshop focused on building our self-confidence,
and learning how to manage our self-esteem as it relates to our
job search.
Goal Setting
This is a chance to reflect on what you really want, and
determine your “game plan” to make that happen.
Rise Above Job Club
A job club with a life skills focus. It is an opportunity for
clients to connect with other individuals who are looking to
rise above their current circumstances in personal and
professional development.
Career Café Job Club
A job club for Wage Subsidy clients only. The discussions
will lean towards concepts learned from active job search
using the Wage Subsidy Marketing Letter. This will act as a
great platform to connect with others experiencing the same
challenges, and discuss ideas and concepts to overcome
those challenges.
