Test drive the Subaru XV and experience why Subaru has been voted
as the number 1 most loved vehicles in South Africa for the last 2 years.
2011 and 2012 SA Autobrands Survey (Ramsay Media)
Our Subaru Boxer engine is designed to lay horizontally in the engine bay, rather than
standing vertically like other engines, thereby providing a lower centre of gravity. The
Boxer engine has a unique punch and counter punch action, which counteracts the
inertia force of the opposing piston, resulting in a higher level of balance.
cornering grip.
SymmetricaL All wheel drivE)
Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive™ delivers engine power to all four wheels simultaneously.
Having power distributed across all four wheels, rather than two on
conventional vehicles, gives you twice the grip capacity, and greater control
Symmetrical
drivetrain
Subaru’s balance and control comes from it’s low centre of gravity and near
perfect symmetrical layout. A symmetrical layout means an innate sense of
balance is built in from the ground up - it has fewer parts and does not need
a side transfer case like some non-symmetrical four wheel drivetrains. The
advantage of a Symmetrical drivetrain with a lower centre gravity, is that it has
an equal weight distribution, and therefore a higher level of total grip during
cornering.

FUELFRIENDLY
GROUNDCLEARED
It breaks convention with style
to match its crossover capabilities. Muscular fender flares
show that the Subaru XV is
ready to take on any road
condition, and the striking
black and machined 17-inch
aluminium alloy wheels appeal
to its sporting and casual
character.
CONNECTED
Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive™
no longer comes with the sacrifice of fuel economy - The new
generation FB engine, retains
Subaru’s proven benefits of the
horizontally-opposed engine
with Symmetrical All-Wheel
Drive™, whilst enhancing fuel
efficiency at the same time.
The XV’s par excellence is without a doubt it’s fuel economy. Winner of the 2012 TOTAL
Economy Run in the All-Wheel Drive category, with a fuel consumption of 7.9 l/100 km, the XV
was well ahead of the second placed competitor with a fuel consumption of 8.8 l/100 km.
Economy Run 2012
WINNER
Subaru offers legendary safety on every model we make. Our strong obsession with
safety has resulted in a long history of five-star ANCAP, Euro NCAP, JNCAP and
Insurance Institute Highway Safety (IIHS) safety ratings. At its core, the combination of the Subaru Boxer engine and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive™ & Subaru’s Ring
Shaped Reinforcement safety cell provide the highest levels of stability, balance
and control for safer driving. For four years running, Subaru remains the only Brand
with “IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK” for all models, in the US.

“Would I take this in preference to a Kia Sportage, Hyundai iX35,
Mitsubishi/Citroen/ Peugeot? In a heartbeat.”
Brendan Seery – Weekend Wheels Editor, Saturday Star
“The real appeal of this car is it’s versatility – it’s an All-Wheel Drive
but looks like a stylish yet fairly rugged sedan, and goes from nippy
city car to handling the rough stuff when required. This is a very,
very compelling vehicle. It deserves to sell well.”
Wendy Knowler – Motoring Zone, East Coast Radio
the
XV
“For starters, the price is right and they haven’t skimped on the
standard features. It’s aim as a competent crossover is clear. It
doesn’t have to try too hard, it just does what it’s been designed to
do very well. Subaru’s all-new XV is competent and assuring onroad and off-road. It combines striking looks, impressive economy
and wears an appealing price tag”
Brenwin Naidu – Surf for Cars
“So you like exploring roads less travelled yet you want to retain your youthful, stylish City person tag. The Subaru XV is the answer to that problem. Its on-road
and off-road abilities defy it’s hatchback DNA and the luxury, fuel usage and top-notch engineering are the cherries on top of a delicious overall driving
experience. No ‘4x4 only’ road signs are going to stop this hatchback from reaching that remote, hill-side and deep rutted path holiday destination.”
Phuti Mpyane – Editor, Cars in Action
