Dacre Award and Petersfield Award Preserves Competition 2015 This year there will be classes for both Individual and Institute entries The Dacre will be awarded for the best individual entry and the Petersfield Award goes to the best Institute entry. Entry fee £5.00 per WI for both cups regardless of the number of entries. Entries must be delivered to the Spring Council meeting by 10:15 am on Wednesday 18 March 2015. Each jar must have a label with the entrant’s name, address and Institute stuck to the base of the jar. The winning entries in each class will be displayed when judging is completed. The competition will be judged in accordance with “On with the Show” 2012 edition. The judges’ decision is final All preserves must be removed at the close of the meeting or they will be disposed of. Recipes can be found in the latest WI Preserves book. A certificate will be presented for winnings entries along with a gift voucher. The Dacre Award This will be awarded for the best individual entry The Petersfield Award This will be awarded for the best WI entry Class 1 A jar of Caribbean Marmalade Class 2 A Jar of soft fruit Jam (any flavour) Class3 A jar of Rhubarb and Date chutney A jar of mint jelly A jar of green tomato chutney A jar of beetroot and Orange Jam WI entry: these preserves must be made by three different members and needs to be presented as a gift pack. Marks will be awarded for presentation.
