The need to go to the bathroom for little kids can happen at the most inopportune
times!

The Ins and Outs of 50/50
If your team is playing on Diamond 1
and you are the Home team, you are
responsible to sell 50/50 tickets.

Hampton has a license to sell 50 / 50
and as such, we have to follow the
rules set out by the Provincial Gaming Branch. The money raised is
used to pay our umpires.

Step 1 —Get the
stuff

Tickets are located inside the
concession; you will find the
tickets, recording book, envelopes etc.
Step 2—Get Organized



Obtain a $15.00 float from the
cash register (ask the counter
staff)
Write down the beginning numbers in the book
Make sure you have 2 different
coloured rolls of tickets
Tickets are 3 for 2.00 and 20 for
5.00

to the page in the book and
have them sign it
Sign it yourself
Step 3—Get Selling








Start selling at beginning the of
the game - make 2 sweeps of
the park
During a break in the game, get
the umpire on Diamond 1 to pull
the ticket
Take the winning ticket to the
score booth to get the number
announced, typically during the
4th inning
Record the ending numbers of
the tickets in the book
Split the money into 2 envelopes, write on each envelope
the amount
Return the float to the register
Hamptons envelope goes in the
safe in the concession
The winnings envelope goes to
the front counter to be given
out when claimed
When the winner claims their
prize, staple the winning ticket
You are done!
Some notes
While selling the tickets – the winner does not have to be present to
win - the number is recorded, and if
it is not claimed - a note will be put
up on the bulletin board.
Last year we had quite a sizable pot
from a big day that wasn't claimed
that day, but about a week later, the
person had kept their tickets - and
they got about $85.00!

We saw you, Ella Jeffery,
doing a lot of base stealing out there
this week for the Black Minors!! You are a great thief!
Look out this weekend at the Minor
tournament! The Blue Minors have the most players who
volunteered for the tournament
team! Good luck!!
The hard work from the Black
Major kids as well as Coach
Al's (and others) great coaching
is starting to really show. There have
been a few plays in the last week
that were amazing, I could have
sworn I was watching the Major
Leagues! Great Job covering the
plate!
On Saturday, May 9th a man in our
Park was pushed over accidentally
by a spooked dog and was taken to
hospital by ambulance. Thank-you
to all of the people who came over
to assist and co-ordinate help arriving. Does anyone know how this
man is
doing?

Pitch, Hit & Run!!!
Congratulations to all our Champions in the Pitch, Hit & Run! The Major League Baseball (MLB)
Pitch, Hit and Run (PHR) is a skills competition for boys and girls ages 7-14 giving them the opportunity to showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities.
The top participants can advance through four (4) levels of competition, and the National Finals at
the 2015 Major League Baseball All-Star Game in New York this July
