8pm: CD launch – Blakeley & Son / The Long Way Home. Garry & Edd Blakeley are
launching their debut collaboration CD – a fiddle album ranging from pure traditional
through to world and improvised jazz. Included are some exciting new fiddle tunes, by
esteemed fiddler Garry, and some all-new arrangements of classic traditional tracks
arranged in the duo’s unique fashion. Special guests are joining them for the launch.
9pm: Open bluegrass session
7:30pm: Stevens’ Racket and Woodwose – an evening of original music based upon the
traditions of Britain and Europe, from the medieval period to the present. An amazing
array of instruments will include: English bagpipes, electric bagpipes, recorder, shawm,
violin, Swedish nykelharpa, hurdy gurdy, guitars, percussion, cittern, gothic bray harp,
accordion, bouzouki.

2-4pm: a series of half hour spots in some of the Old Town cafés – songs and tunes on
flute and guitar from Glashin (Jo & Paul Dengate). Collection in aid of St. Michael’s Hospice.

8:30pm: Comhaltas Irish session – run by the Hastings Comhaltas branch, for musicians
familiar with the repertoire of Irish traditional music, or come along to listen and enjoy the
craic!
8:30pm: Green Diesel – they make noise, old fashioned, new-fangled, jumping around with a violin
and a bouzouki sort of noise, taking their inspiration from the depths of English folk lore
and legend and the classic folk rock sound of the 1970s. Their sound is born from a love of
traditional English music and a desire to reinvent it for modern audiences.

10:30am – midday: Workshop – Garry Blakeley & Paul Dengate – Finding the
rhythm in traditional tunes – a workshop for players of all instruments: fiddle,

7:30pm: The Full English – In 2014, The Full English, a group of stellar musicians made up
of Ben Nicolls, Fay Hield, Martin Simpson, Nancy Kerr, Rob Harbron, Sam Sweeney and Seth
Lakeman appeared at selected summer festivals and undertook a short sell-out UK tour in
the Autumn. Along the way they won a stunning double at the BBC Folk Awards, Best Group
and Album of the Year. Another short tour is arranged for 2015, and this will be the last
ever performance before the break-up of this award winning supergroup. Promoted by

7:30pm: Bal – French and Swedish dancing – no experience required. A lovely evening of
music and dance where you will meet new people and put new and old dancing skills to
good practice; not quite ballroom dancing and not quite a ceilidh. Didn’t manage the
afternoon workshop? Don’t worry – Claire will call some dances and guide you through the
others. Come and give it a go! No partners needed! Dress in your glad rags or comfortable
