FLOOD MAPPING CHANGES
The Federal Emergency Management Agency – FEMA has been in the process of revising the
Flood Insurance Rate Maps for Harford County; the preliminary maps have been completed and
are available to the public for review at www.mdfloodmaps.net. Havre de Grace citizens will have
an opportunity to meet with FEMA and City staff representatives and insurance agents to review
affected properties to see what changes are proposed and discuss insurance options. If you own
property that is currently covered by flood insurance or you own property in close proximity to
Lilly Run, Fountain Run or the Susquehanna River, your property may be affected by revisions to
flood boundary lines. A public open house meeting will be held on May 14, 2015 from 5:00 PM
to 8:00 PM at Harford Community College in the Chesapeake Dining Hall located at 401 Thomas
Run Road, Bel Air, Maryland. Additional information about flood insurance can be found on the
National Flood Insurance Program’s website at www.FloodSmart.gov.
