Last weekend was filled with Havurah happenings. From an informative,
multigenerational Tikkun Olam Service Friday night to an engaging
Community Minyan on Saturday and a lively brunch and orientation for new
and prospective new members on Sunday - and more! Many thanks to all
who created community through these happenings, including the Tikkun
Olam and Membership committees. You'll find photos from the orientation on
our Facebook page and a photo, prayer and list of resources from the Tikkun
Olam Service on Friday.
WISHING THE BEST TO MARIO CASTELLAR
After almost seven years as the backbone of the Havurah office, Mario is
moving on. We’ve been very fortunate to have Mario as part of the Havurah
family. We know so many Havurah members will miss his friendly welcome
and his vast knowledge about our community.
Mario joined us as an Office Admin in 2008 and has taken on an increasing
number of responsibilities, leaving us as the Operations Manager. We’re sure
he has a great future ahead, bringing his steady presence and attention to
detail to his next assignment.
Mario’s last day in the office will be April 30. If you’re in the neighborhood,
stop by and wish him well!
P.S. Planning for office coverage is underway. Watch this space for
information on volunteer help needed and our hiring process.

Design a tallit that reflects personal meaning and your artistic flair. We will
introduce techniques that can be used: silk dyes, basic batik process,
appliqué techniques, stamping using ordinary stamps or stamps designed by
you. We will go over some ideas for designing the atarah (neck band of the
tallit), a short history of the tallit, a review of the prayer said when putting
on the tallit, as well as how to tie the tzitzit. Sample fabrics and tallitot will
be available. The workshop will be fun, relaxed, creative, and spiritual. Led
