Spring Remediation
Remediation is being provided for each content area. In order to have the best opportunity for success
on the SOL test itself, it is strongly encouraged that you participate in all of the available remediation
sessions. Additionally, there will be snacks and/or door prizes for attending the remediation sessions.
The following pages detail where and when remediation sessions will take place. Each remediation
schedule was created by the content-area teachers and is suited to the needs of the specific subject. If
you have specific questions about remediation topics, please contact your child’s current/former
teacher.

Dear Atlee parent/guardian,
In order to complete the requirements for earning a high school diploma, your son or daughter is scheduled to take/retake the
Virginia Algebra 1 SOL on during the week of May 19 – 22. To aid your child in reviewing material, the Atlee mathematics
department will be providing SOL review after school from 3:45 – 4:45 p.m. on May 12 – 15 and May 18. The review will start
promptly at 3:45 p.m. and end at 4:45 p.m. Students should be picked up after school upon the ending of the review session.
Below you will find a list of topics that will be covered on each after school review session. If you should have any questions,
please contact either your child’s current Algebra 1 teacher or Chris Martinez (Math Department Chair).

Below is a list of dates and topics for SOL reviews in order to prepare you for the upcoming VA
Chemistry EOC SOL test on May 15th or 18th. Please sign up with your chemistry teacher if you plan on
attending a session. This will ensure that there will be enough handouts for everyone without wasting
your time while the review teacher runs to the copy machine. Sign up for each session will close 24
hours before the session. The sessions will be held each day before and after school on the dates
designated. Each session will be approximately 1 to 1.5 hours in length. Bring writing utensils, class
notes and a calculator with you to each session you attend.
