All artists are invited to submit work to our prestigious annual show and sale. We
welcome two or three-dimensional works in a variety of media including, but not
limited to, painting, print-making, mixed media, photography, video, textile, clay,
glass, bronze, wood and jewellery. We also welcome large outdoor sculptures. If you
are accepted into the Festival, know that some volunteer hours will be required
during this show.

Conditions of Entry
Deadline for Entry is Sunday,
June 14, 2015, 5:00PM
You must submit a maximum of 5 digital images representative of your body of work. *The exception to this number is to
illustrate 3D artwork. In this circumstance the applicant may use 2 images per piece (to a maximum of 10 images) with
the suggestion being an image that shows the entire work and an image that shows a detail of the artwork. Images must
be in JPEG format.

If you are submitting a CD, JPEG image files should be saved at 300dpi, 1024 pixels (longest side of you’re
artwork) by 768 pixels (shortest side) and saved at a maximum quality. Each CD must be accompanied by a clear
description of each of the works including title, media, and size. Please name each file so that it can be easily
dentified (initials, title, year). Example: SR_Waterfall_15.jpg. Please note if the image is a detail. Example:
SR_Waterfall_D_15.jpg. Mark your name and phone number on the CD.

If you are EMAILING your application, JPEG image files should be saved at 300dpi, 1024 pixels (longest side
of your artwork) by 768 pixels (shortest side).
Payment of entry fee must be received by June 14, 2015, or your application will not be processed.
A confirmation email will be provided. Email images and forms to: [email protected]
NOTE: Images should be cropped. They must not include any object or item other than the artwork as they
may be used for Festival publicity and promotion. Juried artists may be requested to provide larger, higher
resolution images for publicity purposes. Please have these files readily available. As an accepted artist, you
grant Headwaters Arts educational and promotional usage rights. The artist always retains their copyright. You
agree to license Headwaters Arts usage rights only, for promotional and educational purposes.
New media artists (i.e. video) are required to supply the technology required to display their work for both jurying and the
exhibition.
*Artworks submitted for jurying do NOT necessarily have to be the pieces submitted to the exhibition;
however, these works must be clearly REPRESENTATIVE of your current work.
All entries must be original and not have been previously submitted to the Festival Art Show & Sale. All work in the show
must be for sale. Separate entries must be submitted for different media. Collaborative works must have prior approval.
Headwaters Arts Festival receives a 35% commission on all art sales in the show and sale. The remainder due is paid to
the artist no later than 30 days after the end of the show. Art must remain at the show until after 5pm on the final day.
Artcards—Artists who are accepted to the Show and Sale, are required to donate an original work of art on a 5x7 inch
card. The resulting Artcards will be displayed at the Show and Sale for the duration of the exhibition. The Artcards will be
shown unframed, signed on the back, and without mats. They will sell for $35 - All proceeds will go to Headwaters Arts
as a fundraiser. Please include your art card when delivering your artwork to the SGI Centre. There will be no return of
Artcards. Requirements: Artcards must be original art work only, no reproductions. They should be two dimensional or
low relief and can be of any medium. Artwork must be signed with your name and please provide your contact
information on the back. 5x7 inch cards of 140 lb. multi-purpose art paper are available for pick up from:
Headwaters Arts Gallery - Alton Mill Arts Centre or you may purchase you own materials to work with.
A non-refundable fee of $50.00 (tax included) must accompany each application of artists who are members of
Headwaters Arts. A non-refundable fee of $65.00 (tax included) must accompany each application of artists who are not
members.
SGI Canada Caledon Centre is insured for public liability and all reasonable care will be taken with CDs and art work.
Neither Headwaters Arts or the Alton Mill Arts Centre nor the volunteers of the Festival may be held responsible for lost,
stolen or damaged pieces. All items are the responsibility of the artist.
