2015 Energy & Environmental Trailblazers The National Law Journal recognizes professionals who have moved the needle in the legal industry, professionals who are truly Trailblazers. In 2013 and 2014 we have published pieces on Trailblazers in Legal Business, Governance, Risk and Compliance, Intellectual Property and Litigation. We are now accepting nominations for our inaugural list of 2015 Energy & Environmental Trailblazers which is slated to appear on April 13th 2015: Please email nominations to Lisa Van Dyke no later than Monday, February 2nd to [email protected] nomination criteria can be found below: What are the criteria? We are looking for people who have moved the needle in the legal arena in terms of Energy & Environmental. Here are just a few examples of the types of trailblazers we are looking for: Changed the way certain types of cases are defended Brought cases to courts that had never heard them before Pioneered use of a technological innovation Opened up new category (e.g. securities arbitration) Developed a new litigation strategy Changed the way litigation was billed The above are just examples; it’s important to understand that we are not simply looking for lawyers who have won a lot of big cases, and we are not putting together a list of “best litigators.” We are looking for agents of change. The nomination process If you know someone who fits the criteria, please nominate him or her by sending Lisa Van Dyke ([email protected]) the following information: The nominee’s name, current organization and contact information A short essay (250 words or less) outlining why the nominee is an Energy or Environmental Trailblazer; cite specific examples in which the nominee has “moved the needle”.
