2015 Sporting Clays Tournament S E C O N D A N N U A L H E L P I N G • A• H E R O HOSTED BY PAWNEE SPORTING CLAYS, LLC • FAYETTEVILLE, TEXAS We believe in Empowering Wounded Heroes — One Home at a Time by providing a hand up, not a hand out. Helping A Hero is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides specially adapted homes for severely wounded post 9/11 veterans. Helping A Hero homes are customized with special adaptations tailored to the unique needs of each Hero. Our homes facilitate the transition from military to civilian life and allow severely wounded veterans to regain some “How can we protect ourselves if we don’t help those who protect us!” — Kelly Gale Amen, 2014 Shooting Sponsor 100 OVER HOMES IN 22 of their lost independence. Our principal activity is to provide specially adapted homes for qualifying service members through partnerships made with builders, developers and communities. We strive to engage the community in providing services and resources for our wounded Heroes and their families. We also provide our Heroes STATES with additional support programs such as marriage retreats, caregiver retreats, recreational activities, emotional support, and financial support. THE STATES IN RED INDICATE THE HOMES OF OUR HEROS. You are invited to participate in Helping A Hero’s second annual Sporting Clays Tournament. Our spring fundraising tournament is limited to twenty Shooting Sponsors*, each of whom will be partnered with a Hero as a teammate. Heroes are severely wounded veterans who are either past or future Helping a Hero home recipients. Ten, four-man teams, consisting of two Shooting Sponsors and two Heroes, will compete through ten stations. Shooting Sponsors are asked to provide a shotgun for their own use and, if available, an additional shotgun for their Hero’s use. Commemorative shirts will be provided (limited to 100, sizing based on availability.) Shooting Sponsors will be featured in the Tournament Program Guide. Shooting Sponsors are also welcome to bring a guest to view the event and share in the after-tournament festivities, including an outdoor meal in PAWNEE’s beautiful covered pavilion.
