Who Can Use eChain?
eChain can be used for all Non DOT accounts. If an account number needs to be added to your access email a request
to [email protected] or call 888-324-2468.
Training
Ask an eChain representative for a PowerPoint presentation you can use to train your staff.

The MedTox eChain team is available Monday through Friday from 7:30AM-5:30PM central via email at

Usernames and Passwords
A username and password is required to access eChain. Email [email protected] or call 888-324-2468
to request a setup form. Once a username and password has been established, access www.medtox.com and
click on My MEDTOX at the top of the screen, which will bring you to the eChain login page.

In order to take full advantage of all features of eChain you must use a computer which has been configured to allow
access to the web sites below.

If a non-error web page opens for each site, you are all set!
If an error page appeared, check with your IT department and request that they allow you to access all of the domains
below. If any of these domains are blocked, MyMedtox will not function correctly.
Methods to allow access to these sites varies depending on the tool used to control access. Let your IT department
know it may be necessary to specify http and https for each site and/or include wildcards to specify all parts of the
domain (i.e. *medtox.com).


Installing an ePad
1. eChain is not currently being tested with Windows 8. You may experience challenges with the display
within the application when using eChain with Windows 8.
2. These instructions cover the Desktop version of Internet Explorer only.
3. You must have administrator rights to run the installation program.
4. Save all your work before starting the installation.
5. You will need to install both the ePad Drivers and the ActiveX Drivers.
6. Internet Explorer version 11 (the version that is provided with Windows 8.1) may render the eChain and
QuikResults web applications differently. While the appearance may differ, the functionality will
remain the same.
Step 1 - ePad Setup
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Plug in the ePad to the USB Port.
3. Turn on the computer and allow Windows to boot up.
4. Before beginning the installation process, be sure that a Google and/or Yahoo tool bar are not open on
the Internet Explorer web browser. If one is open, right click on the toolbar and make sure that both
toolbars are not checked to be open.

Step 2 - Installing Device Drivers
1. Access www.epadsupport.com.
2. The ePad Support page will show download links for both the Universal Installer and the IntegriSign
Desktop.
3. Select the "download" link for the Universal Installer. You will be prompted at the bottom of the
browser window to run or save this file. Select Run.

If you have an earlier version of ePad installed, you may receive a prompt to upgrade it. Click Yes to
proceed. If you see a prompt that says “Do you want to allow the following program to make changes
to this computer?” Click Yes.
5. You may get one of the following messages
a. This setup will perform an upgrade of ePadLink ePad XX.X. Do you want to Continue? Click Yes.
b. The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software? Click Run.

6. An InstallShield Wizard for ePad screen starts. You should see a screen similar to the following. Click
Next.
7. If updating from a previous version, the install should initiate. If this is a new install, the wizard will
continue with the license agreement screen. Select I accept the terms of the license agreement and click
Next.

8. Enter the User Name and the Company Name and click Next.
9. Do not change any options on this screen and click Next.

10. NOTE: You may see a warning that says The Microsoft .NET Framework could not be found. You may
safely ignore this warning and click OK.
11. On the Ready to Install screen, click the Install button and the software will install.
12. Close the wizard when it is completed by clicking Finish.
Step 3 - Installing PC Signing Applications
1. Access www.epadsupport.com.
2. The ePad Support page will show download links for both the Universal Installer and the IntegriSign
Desktop.
3. Select the "download" link for the IntegriSign Desktop. You will be prompted at the bottom of the
browser window to Run or Save this file. Select Run.

5. You may get asked after pressing Run for rights to run the file on your machine. Allow the install to
continue.

The IntegriSign Desktop installation will appear. Click Next:

13. Wait for the installation to complete. Once it is completed, it may prompt you to restart your computer.
You can choose to restart now or later, you should restart your computer now.

Step 4 - Internet Settings
1.
Internet browser settings must be updated to make them compatible with the ePad.

Open Internet Explorer.

Click Tools, Internet Options and then click on the Security tab.

Select the Trusted sites zone.
5.
Make sure that the “Enable Protected Mode” checkbox is NOT CHECKED. Then click the Sites button.

Access https://my.medtox.com and click Add. The website now appears in the Websites window.

Click Close, and then click OK.
Step 6 - Validating ePad Setup
To ensure that the ePad has been installed properly, follow these steps.
1. Click Start, All Programs, IntegriSign Desktop, Desktop, Pen Diagnostics
2. A dialog box will appear titled Pen Diagnostics. Within the dialog box it will say ePad device initialized
properly. Start Signing. This means that the installation went through successfully.
3. If it gives you other options, go to Pen Calibration in order to calibrate the pen. This will
only take a moment.

Current Users
Old software can cause the ePad to not function properly. To verify you are running the most current version of the
ePad Software follow these steps.

Click in your Start menu.
Click on All Programs.
Click on IntegriSign Desktop.
Click on Desktop.
Click on About IntegriSign.
The latest version of the ePad drivers for Windows XP, Windows 7 and Vista is 10.4.
If your drivers are lower than these numbers you will need to uninstall IntegriSign Desktop and
Interlink Electronics and then reinstall the most current version of the drivers.

Click on your Start menu.
Click on Control Panel.
Click on Add or Remove Programs (this may be worded differently).
Scroll until you find IntegriSign Desktop and Interlink Electronics and click Remove or Uninstall.
Wait for the process to complete and restart your computer.

ePad Return Form
1. If you need to return an ePad to MedTox package the ePad or laptop in a well-padded cardboard box (Attention:
eChain Dept.)
2. Use a FedEx Billable stamp/airbill
3. Call FedEx for a pickup (800-463-3339) touch 0, 0, attendant will pick up, request from the attendant “an Express
pick-up for a return shipment using a billable stamp”
