Jamie Anderson –
Guitar and Song
Writing classes
Jamie Anderson toured full
time as a singer-songwriter for
13 years. Between gigs she
taught at Duke University, arts
centers and at festivals. In 2004
she moved toward more teaching and now it’s her bread and
butter. Jamie remembers what
it was like to learn that first
guitar chord, giving her empathy and patience with students
who might feel like they have
five thumbs. She is proficient in
many styles, from rock to bluegrass. Jamie also teaches song
writing and mandolin. Although
teaching started out simply as
an activity to do between tours,
it’s turned into something she
genuinely loves doing.
