REGISTRATION CONTACT Aesthetic Crowns in Paediatric Dentistry

NuSmile ZR
NuSmile ZR Anterior and Posterior paediatric crowns
represent the perfect balance between art and science.
Made from high-grade monolithic zirconia ceramic,
NuSmile ZR looks like the real thing and is 9 times
stronger than natural teeth. Easy to place with tapered
margins for optimal gingival fit and health, NuSmile
ZR offers superior durability to last until the tooth
exfoliates without needing ongoing repairs. We have
optimized the translucency of our zirconia ceramic for
natural aesthetics and to prevent the problem of dark
show through of pulpally treated teeth – satisfying the
most demanding clinicians and parents. NuSmile ZR
Posterior crowns include 1st and 2nd primary molars
with narrow 1st primary molars also available.

NuSmile Signature Anterior and Posterior Crowns
provide proven durable restoration for primary teeth
affected by early childhood caries. Tried and true,
NuSmile Signature gives a child a healthy, natural
smile and are highly rated by parents and dentists
in numerous studies. Our crowns are less technique
sensitive than composite strip crowns and are the most
widely used crown by a 2 to 1 margin with more than
three million restorations over the past 20 years.
In university studies, NuSmile Signature posterior
crowns had a wear comparable to traditional stainless
steel crowns and far exceeded competitive preveneered aesthetic crowns.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The use of aesthetic crowns is a relatively new technology
available to pediatric dentistry for the restoration and
rehabilitation of the primary dentition. This is a hands-on
workshop which covers case studies, and the principals
and techniques for sizing, preparation, fitting and
cementation of NuSmile Signature (pre-veneered) and
NuSmile ZR (zirconia) crowns. Clinical recommendations
including case selection will be reviewed as well as
practical tips to overcome common problems will be
outlined. Controversial issues around cementation, wear
and durability will be discussed as well as the emerging
evidence.
At the completion of this workshop, the clinician will
understand and demonstrate competence in all phases
of case selection, tooth preparation, proper fitting and
cementation of both pre-veneered and zirconia ceramic
anterior and posterior primary crowns. Clinicians will be
in a better position to decide which type of aesthetic
restoration is best suited to their individual patient’s needs
and should feel confident to offer parents and children
a new aesthetic option for full coverage restorations for
anterior or posterior teeth.
