Register at the Town Office. Perennial Giveaway May 23 Fair Days 2015 - June 5-7 Normal garbage pick up day is Friday. The Loraas disposal truck is in Hepburn by 6:00am. To ensure your garbage cart is emptied, please have it at the edge of the street prior to 6:00am. If your cart is over- loaded and the lid is unable to be closed the Loraas truck may refuse to pick up your cart. Please ensure all material being disposed of fits in the cart so the lid can close. For snow removal and traffic safety, please remove your cart from the street no later than Saturday at 8:00am. Mennon Waste Site Hours (April 1 - September 30) Every Thursday - 12:00pm8:00pm 1st & 3rd Saturday - 9:00am5:00pm. We hope that the support for this fundraiser will continue from last year’s! Please treat the porta potty’s with respect - as you would treat your own facilities in your home. Making blankets for MCC (relief agency) Hepburn and District Parks and Recreation Board is running the 2nd Annual Community Lottery This is similar to the Arena lottery last year, but as Parks and Recreation we would like to see this be an annual fundraising venture available to non profit groups and organizations in town to assist in capital projects. This year the funds raised will go towards the arena upgrade and then next year ... Tickets will go on sale in early March until Friday June 5, 2015. Draw will be on Sunday June 7, 2015 at 2:00pm at the Hepburn School Gym. Tickets are $20. Only 2500 will be sold. 1st Prize – Yamaha ATV Grizzly 700 FI in blue Wellness Clinic - February 17th from 9:00 am to noon. HEPBURN MINOR HOCKEY Hepburn Minor Hockey is hosting it's first annual NHL playoff draft night on April 11th at 7:00. The event is being held at the hockey rink and will also include a beer gardens. Cost is $160 for a team of four and includes 4 plates of wings. Payout is based on the number of teams that join. Cut off date is April 1st. Donations of clothes can be dropped off on Friday April 10th from 7:00-8:30pm. We welcome clean used clothing for all ages so this is a great time to de-clutter and spring clean your closets! Bethany College Commencement and Spring Choir performance on April 25 & 26. The Hepburn Figure Skating Club would like to thank the community for their support of the Skating Carnival. Hepburn Minor Soccer Hepburn Minor Soccer is hosting the U16 Valley Cup on June 5-7, 2015. We are very excited about this inaugural event and look forward to a great tournament! Recipe of the Month—Sunday Potatoes ~Submitted by Janet Jackson~ 2 lb frozen hash browns 1/4 cup margarine, melted 1 cup diced onion 1 cup grated cheese 1 can mushroom soup Salt & pepper to taste 2 cups sour cream Crushed potato chips Thaw hash browns for 30 minutes. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Put into 9X13 inch pan, smooth it evenly and sprinkle crushed potato chips. Bake at 375 F for 1 hour. This recipe comes from the Arena cookbook and are available at the Town Office for $10. Hepburn Centennial Bowl Hepburn Centennial Bowl is now closed for the season. Thank you to all our supporters - it was a great year! We open up again on October 15, 2015 Starting to think about September already? Hepburn Market Place will be having our Fall Fair on September 19 in conjunction with the Threshing Bee again, and our competitions are back! So when you plant your garden or plan your summer, keep these competitions in mind: pie, baking, handicrafts, largest pumpkin, weirdest (most unique) vegetable, preserves (sweet), preserves (pickled or spicy), and garden picked bouquets. Age separation may be in effect for some categories. Hepburn Fire Fighter and First Responder Banquet and Silent Auction Saturday April 18, 2015 6:00pm - 8:00pm At the Hepburn School Beer Gardens 8:00pm - 12:00pm At the Hepburn Arena Tickets are $30 and available from Department members Hepburn Fair Days are on June 5-7, 2015. Get your creative juices flowing as we are looking to have parade entries as well as a art show and talent show. Start figuring out what you can do or submit. We hope it will be bigger and better than last year! Keep this day open and show your community pride and participate in the events offered. Hepburn Market Place is starting up again on May 16. Most of our regular vendors are back, along with some new ones! Come out for baking, handicrafts, garage sale items, bedding plants, produce, Epicure, Tupperware, meats, preserves and more! Hours are Saturdays from 10am 1pm and we are set up at the Museum of Wheat. If weather is poor, we will move into the Centre.
