In Herman Cph, we are both the designers and producers of the products. This
should be seen in light of a creative urge to create a universe where all
products carry our design philosophy, where we have the opportunity to create
our universe.
THOUGHT AND BORN IN DENMARK
Our products are designed and developed at our studio/workshop in Århus, Denmark. In our design process, we work iteratively between drawings and prototypes to achieve the right balance between form and function.
For us, social and environmental responsibility, are key values in our production. We are convinced that people feel most comfortable, if they are
among good and honest intentions. Therefore, all our products are produced in
Denmark, where we are able to maintain a personal and close dialog with the
talented people we work with.
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Our design Philosophy reflects in our idiom, which balances between the contrasts: the simple and the powerful, the elegance and the fine craftsmanship.
Great materials are molded over time, which means that they only grow more
beautiful and unique as year’s progress. A product by Herman Cph is created
in order to be used and to reflect the lives lived.
BACKGROUND
Behind the Herman Cph design, is the duo and couple Helle Herman Mortensen
and Jonas Herman Pedersen.
Helle has a Masters in Industrial Design from Aalborg University, where she
graduated 2011. Jonas trained as a furniture designer at Aarhus School of
Architecture, where he graduated in 2010. Afterwards he started his own design studio, Herman Studio, where he collaborates with several Danish design
brands including Skagerak and Andersen Furniture.

Herman Studio is the creative laboratory where our design is born. Here we
