Thursday, May 28, 2015
1:00 - 4:30pm
Bloomington, Illinois
Please join us as we Forge Ahead with New Strategies for New Challenges at our 30th Annual Claims
Handling Seminar on May 28 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Bloomington, IL. Our objective is to offer the
latest in claims-handling strategies and tactics in our Casualty & Property and Workers’ Compensation
programs, as well as in our new Governmental program.
Casualty & Property Session
In this session, we offer programs on the latest developments in such areas as cyber liability, drone
law, six-person jury legislation, and medical marijuana, as well as our always popular legal updates in
the areas of insurance coverage, premises liability and property claims.
Workers’ Compensation Session
Our statewide Workers’ Compensation group will examine stories that were “In the News” over the
past year for having an impact on Workers’ Compensation claims. From the latest perspectives on
workplace violence and infectious diseases, to new OSHA guidelines and recent, relevant appellate
decisions – we want to keep you informed. We will also provide updates on other significant Workers’
Compensation issues, including Medicare Set-Asides, and how well the AMA is doing its job.
Governmental Session
As immediate Past Chair of the firm’s Governmental Practice, I am especially pleased to be offering
programming geared toward government-related claims issues. Our firm represents governmental
entities in large and small counties over roughly 65% of Illinois, and our Governmental Law attorneys
have deep and varied experiences from actively participating in those communities. In this program,
our speakers offer insights into what lies ahead in areas that impact the governmental sector, such as
new coverage issues, liabilities related to unearthed DNA evidence, and the liability ramifications of
budgetary constraints that are prevalent across the state.
