Special Olympics is an internationally recognized sports program open to intellectually disabled individuals eight years and older. The City of Peoria’s Community Services Department provides one of the largest Special Olympics training programs in the State of Arizona. Overseen by the award winning Adaptive Recreation Program, Team Peoria’s training program serves over 120 athletes with intellectual disabilities.
